Hey, Big Shot!! You’ll Never Be As Big As Jesus…But It’s Okay!!

I could be anything I wanted to
I could be anything, but one thing’s true

Never gonna be as big as Jesus
Never gonna hold the world in my hand
Never gonna be as big as Jesus
Never gonna build a promised land
But that’s alright, it’s okay with me

I could build a tower to Heaven
Get on top and touch the sky

All designed to glorify

Good as any human could
But that won’t get me by

You’re never gonna be as BIG as Jesus!!

So don’t even try…

You can’t top Him!

You can’t out-give Him!

Don’t try to do His job in your life…

Or be God in someone else’s life…

He’s God…

You’re not!!

It’s OK…

Your job from the Father isn’t as hard as the Son’s!!

Whew!

How liberating…

And such a relief!!

Hey, just say it…

“I’m not as big as Jesus!!”

It’s OK…

I’m not either…

No one is!

We don’t need to be…

And we can be okay with that!

We need a BIG God!

Jesus is your Superhero!!

Luke 4:14-21

“Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit,

and news about Him spread through the whole countryside.

He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised Him.

He went to Nazareth, where He had been brought up,

and on the Sabbath day He went into the synagogue, as was his custom.

He stood up to read,

and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him.

Unrolling it, He found the place where it is written:

^‘The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,

There’s a banquet to enjoy in Heaven!!

Isaiah 25:6-9

“On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare

a feast of rich food for all peoples,

a banquet of aged wine—

the best of meats and the finest of wines.

the shroud that enfolds all peoples,

the sheet that covers all nations;

He will swallow up death forever.

The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears

He will remove His people’s disgrace

we trusted in Him, and He saved us.

(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)

Then the angel said to me,

Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’

And he added,

‘These are the true words of God.’

You’re invited to the banquet!!

Everything is ready!

No excuses!

It will not be cancelled!

There’s still room at the King’s table!

It’s your choice to come!!

Say “Yes!” to God’s Son!

Put on your wedding garment…

Go to the Heavenly banquet!

Celebrate!

Enjoy the wedding feast…

At the Supper of the Lamb!

I’m Filled With Thanksgiving…Thank You For Giving, Lord!

So I can serve You!

I Didn’t Understand Its Value…

That he’s had since he was a kid!

My husband’s dad knew them from the Newark league…

Before they played with the Newark Bears…

Which at the time was the Triple A Yankee minor league!!

They were watching the Yankees at batting practice…

Hank Bauer got in the dug out and said to everyone…

“Sign the ball for the kid!”

The Yankees lost that game to Warren Spahn…

But my husband really cherished that ball!

He says it’s worth about $4,000-$5,000!

Well…

When our sweet little boy was around two years old, perhaps…

I remember he and I were at home, while my husband was at work…

I was trying to wrap Christmas presents…

My rambunctious, little guy was no help at all!!

Sooooooo…

Wanting to distract him…

So I could get this job done…

I grabbed this treasured ball of my husband’s…

And gave it to the child to play with!!!!!

I know…

If you’re a baseball fan…

Or even a collector of anything…

You’re horrified!!!

It’s beyond belief!

I know!!!

But, not being a guy…

Or a very sports-minded girl at all…

I just didn’t know its value!!

Soooo…

In walks hubby…

Who is horrified as he sees his two year old…

Gumming Mickey Mantle’s signature!!

He looks at me, “Are you Crazy???”

“What?” I say!

He grabs it…

And stomps out of the room…

Well…

We’re still together after 36 years…

But, I haven’t seen that baseball since!

“Where is it???”

I ask, as I’m writing this…

“Where you can’t get at it!”

He replies!

Wise move!!

Our son is 23 now…

And we may have grandchildren someday…

Who need to be distracted, too!

Ha!

Lord…

You’re seated above…

Enthroned in the Father’s love…

Destined to die…

Poured out for all mankind…

God’s only Son…

Perfect and spotless One…

You never sinned…

But suffered as if You did…

All authority…

Every victory is Yours…

Savior…

Worthy of honor and glory…

Worthy of all our praise…

You Overcame!!

Jesus…

Awesome in power forever…

Awesome!

And great is Your Name…

You Overcame!

Power in hand…

Speaking the Father’s plan…

You’re sending us out…

Light in this broken land…

By the blood of the Lamb…

Sweet Holy Spirit!

Never sell out!

1 Peter 2:21-25

“To this you were called,

He made no threats.

Instead,

He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly.

‘He Himself bore our sins’

in His body on the Cross,

so that we might die to sins

and live for righteousness;

‘by His wounds you have been healed.”

For ‘you were like sheep going astray,^‘

but now you have returned to the

Shepherd and Overseer

of your souls.”

Isaiah 53:5

Where Does Jesus Live??? He Lives In Me!! Oh, Yeah!!!

Who Is This Who Lives In Me???

Exodus 3:14

“God said to Moses,

‘I am who I am.^‘

This is what you are to say to the Israelites:

‘I am has sent me to you.’”

John 17:22-23

“I have given them the glory that You gave Me,

that they may be One as We are One—

I in them

and You in Me—

so that they may be brought to complete unity.

Then the world will know that You sent Me

and have loved them

even as You have loved Me.”

Amen!

I’ve been the one to shake with fear
And wonder if You’re even here
I’ve been the one to doubt Your love
I’ve told myself You’re not enough

I’ve been the one to try and say
I’ll overcome by my own strength
I’ve been the one to fall apart
And start to question who You are

You’re the One who conquers giants
You’re the One who calls out kings
You shut the mouths of lions
You tell the dead to breathe
You’re the One who walks through fire
You take the orphan’s hand
You are the One Messiah
You are I AM
You are I AM

I’ve been the one held down in chains
Beneath the weight of all my shame
I’ve been the one to believe
That where I am, You cannot reach

The veil is torn
And now I live
With the Spirit inside
The same One
The very same One
Who brought the Son back to life!

You are the One Messiah

Who Are We When He Lives In Us???

We’re children of the very same One who…

Conquers giants!

Calls out Kings!

Shuts the mouths of lions!

Tells the dead to breathe!

Walks through fire!

Takes the orphan’s hand!

Is the One Messiah!

Is the great…

I AM!!!

Romans 8:9

“You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh

but are in the realm of the Spirit,

if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you.

And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,

they do not belong to Christ.”

Galatians 2:20

“I have been crucified with Christ

and I no longer live,

but Christ lives in me.

The life I now live in the body,

Break your silence!

Talk to God…

About what you’re experiencing…

Let His Holy Spirit guide you through your life…

When you feel far from Him…

Whisper His Name!

Find a quiet place…

Away from the noise of this world…

Where you can be alone with God!

Speak Up!

Speak to Jesus in Love-tones!

Reach Out!

To have a relationship with Him!

Prepare to receive His Love!

It flows eternally from the Cross!

Seek His Face!

Then, listen!

Hear His Voice!

He’ll hear yours!

He’s delighted that you opened your heart…

To His Presence!

Take His Hand!

He’s already bridged the distance!

By running to you!

By sending His Son to die for you…

Go the distance!

He came to hear you cry out for Him!

He wants to commune with you!

“His eyes search to and fro throughout the earth…

Looking for one whose heart is seeking Him…” (2 Chronicles 16:9)

Genesis 28:15

“I Am with you

and will watch over you wherever you go,

and I will bring you back to this land.

I will not leave you

until I have done what I have promised you.”

And when you meet Him???

Ahhhh..
