“Ladies this e-mail will answer all your questions…
Men Are Different!
They think differently…
Talk differently…
Are interested…
Or not interested…
In different things!
The sooner we realize it the better off we’ll be…
And the easier it will be to get along…
Why Men Are Seldom Depressed!
Men are just happier people:
Their last name stays put…
The garage is all theirs…
Wedding plans take care of themselves…
Chocolate is just another snack…
They can be President…
Car mechanics tell them the truth…
Same work, more pay…
Wrinkles add character…
Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100…
New shoes don’t cut, blister, or mangle your feet…
One mood all the time…
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat…
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase…
They can open all their own jars…
They get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness…
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough…
They are unable to see wrinkles in their clothes..
They don’t need to put on a new face every day…
The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades…
They only have to shave their face and neck…
They can play with toys all their life.
One wallet and one pair of shoes! One color for all seasons…
They can ‘do’ their nails with a pocket knife…
They have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache…
They can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24th in 25 minutes…
No wonder men are happier!! Ha!
Nicknames:
If Laura, Kate and Sarah go out for lunch, they will call each other Laura, Kate and Sarah…
If Mike, Dave, and John go out for lunch, they will affectionately call each other Fat Boy, Bubba and Wildman…
Eating Out:
When the bill arrives, Mike, Dave and John will each throw in $20, even though it’s only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller, and none will actually admit they want change back…
When the girls get their bill, out come the pocket calculators…
Money:
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs…
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn’t need, but it’s on sale…
Bathrooms:
A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel…
The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 337…A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of these items…
Arguments: A woman has the last word in any argument…
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument…
Future:
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband…
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife…
Marriage:
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn’t…
A man marries a woman expecting that she won’t change, but she does…
Dressing Up:
A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the trash,
answer the phone, or go get the mail…
A man will dress up for weddings and funerals…
Natural:
Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed…
Women somehow deteriorate during the night…
Offspring:
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments, romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears, hopes, and dreams…
A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house…
Though For The Day:
A married man should forget his mistakes. There’s no use in two people remembering the same thing!”
P.S. Read about relationships:
Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus by John Gray, Ph.D.
Do you wonder why you have to, Feel the things that hurt you, If there’s a God who loves you, Where is He now?
Maybe, there are things you can’t see And all those things are happening To bring a better ending Some day, some how, you’ll see, you’ll see
Would dare you, would you dare, to believe, That you still have a reason to sing, ’cause the pain you’ve been feeling, Can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on, you got to wait for the light Press on, just fight the good fight Because the pain you’ve been feeling, It’s just the dark before the morning
My friend, you know how this all ends And you know where you’re going, You just don’t know how you get there So just say a prayer.
And hold on, cause there’s good for those who love God, Life is not a snapshot, it might take a little time, But you’ll see the bigger picture
Once you feel the way of glory, All your pain will fade to memory
I stare out the window into the backyard. From my breakfast table I can see a summer robin fluffing out her feathers. The trees reach up to the sky with new leaves that wave good morning. A chubby squirrel gathers a few acorns to save for later. As I look, I realize the pace beyond my windows is so different than the one within them. We, as humans, are tempted to hurry. And yet it seems God is intent on slowing us down.
He gives us a Sabbath and we work through the weekend.
He gives us three meals a day to let us slow down and we pick fast food.
He gives us eight hours of sleep a night and we try to squeak by on far less.
We hurry when we’re afraid that we’ll be late, miss out on something, or disappoint someone. God doesn’t need to hurry because he has all the time in eternity. This is good news for us, friends. It means…
God will not rush your healing.
And God will not rush your growth.
God is okay with where you are right now. He’s not tapping his toe impatiently. He’s not looking at his watch with a sigh. He’s not trying to get you out the door a few minutes sooner. The God who loves you is willing to give you the time you need. All of time belongs to him and he is generous with it. He gives it freely to fluffy birds and friendly trees and chubby squirrels. And he’ll give it to you.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God:
that if we ask anything according to His will,
He hears us.
And if we know that He hears us—
whatever we ask—
we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
Romans 12:2
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test
and approve what God’s will is—
His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
John 8:28-29
So Jesus said,
“When you have lifted up the Son of Man,
then you will know that I am He
and that I do nothing on My own
but speak just what the Father has taught Me.
The One who sent Me is with Me;
He has not left Me alone,
for I always do what pleases Him.”
Proverbs 16:7
“When a man’s ways please the Lord,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
Trying to do it all???
Relax!
Ask in prayer and obey!!
Jesus will give you joy for the things He wants you to do!
Let Jesus take your burdens to lighten your load!
Don’t be pressured by the world!
Psalm 118:8
“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.”
You’re confidence is in Christ!!
The opinion that matters is His!
1 Timothy 2:5
“For there is one God
and one mediator between God and mankind,
the man Christ Jesus…”
Simplify your life!
Listen to One Voice!
The world doesn’t dictate…
The culture doesn’t define…
God’s voice is the loudest…
At all times!!
Before you take a new job…
Take on a new volunteer position…
Do another chore…
Let go of things God says are not yours!!

“…your life flows through different seasons. Each of these seasons carries with it different time constraints, blessings, and demands. To try to do all things without being cognizant of the season you are in is the surest way to burnout and even bitterness…Yet God never said that you would receive praise for trying to please others….Place what God says and what God requires as the highest priority in your life.” Chrystal Evans Hurst
For many years, freedom sat like an unopened present on the shelf of my heart. I looked at it a bit suspiciously. From time to time, I’d pick it up and shake it so I could try to figure out what was inside. But I never had the courage to open it.
Then God said it was time. He placed my hands on that box, helped me untie the ribbon, peel back the paper, and lift the lid.
And here’s what freedom looks like to me this summer:
Being able to laugh out loud.
Friends who accept me as I am, mess and all.
Sitting on the back porch watching fireflies.
A nap.
Knowing I can make mistakes and then try again.
Grace spread out like a picnic and God handing me a paper plate.
Freedom given is not complete. It’s only when we receive it, enjoy it, give thanks for it that becomes fully ours.
The fourth of July in America is a day for celebrating freedom–please do.
And let’s also celebrate the freedom God has given us every other day too.
Open the gift and enjoy what has always been yours, friend!
