Our friends from church,

image

Mike and Janene Harper and their family (Brittany, Bethany, and Nataley)

are in Nicaragua working with

YWAM (Youth With A Mission)

http://www.ywam.org/

for about 10 days.

Many in our church family have helped sponsor and support them

on their last couple of trips.

Our Pastor shared last Sunday

about being the “Salt & Light” of the World…

Now they’re sharing the Light of Christ in Nicaragua.

He asked for prayer for them and the team that is there,

along with the country they’re serving…

Prayer for their safety,

for the people there who do not know Jesus,

and that lives will be forever changed!

Here’s the latest update from the Harper’s

and it’s truly amazing to read.

“Boy, are we beat!

We spent yesterday in the town of Masatepe learning the town.

We began prayer-walks all over the city that we’ll distribute Bibles in.

They’re hard covered whole Bibles,

and the people are so excited we’re coming.

image(1)

The churches were asked to respond, if they wanted to help.

Over 35 churches and 180 people responded!

Amazing!

Today our 4 teams of 12 will start distribution.

My team will be at the construction site

and at the YWAM base, building a home,

and working on updating the base.

This town is Dirambe.

It’s a very poor area,

where the base started its vision in 1996

of getting a Bible into the hands of every Nicaraguan family by 2020.

This first city reached, has seen dramatic changes in crime and violence.

They have become a city with Hope!

 They love Jesus!

And now reach other cities!

I can’t wait to visit this city again.

Kelly, the director, should be there today.

He has been a missionary in Nicaragua

through YWAM for a long time.

We’ve worked with him before,

so it’s nice to know a face there.

The YWAM school we are considering is his school.

It’s a bilingual school.

My husband, Mike, preached last night

for about half an hour

on the importance of relationship with Christ,

and allowing that overflow to pour out to others.

The Nicas “Amend-ed” and agreed!

He had a translator, who is our team leader.

She’s from Spain.

Her name is Gail.

They worked great together.

The church was an Assembly of God.

It was a whopping 1 1/2 hour worship time.

Wow!

We sang,

‘Open The Eyes Of My Heart, Lord’

in English and Spanish

Wow!

How it pleases God’s heart to hear our worship!!

We’re all still well, so far.

We’ve eaten many foods and styles of foods.

It was hard on the tummy at first,

but it’s getting better.

We’ve had an amazing several days.

God’s given the girls great boldness in witnessing.

We’ve been distributing Bibles with churches.

My team has 2 precious Nica ladies.

They helped me lead a family

to Jesus, who

they had never even heard of.

I got to tell them the whole story.

They cried,

and were excited to give their lives to Christ.

When we left,

we saw them reading the Bible already.

Amazing!

Their names were taken down by the local church,

who saw many families already added to their numbers.

The church had new people show up for the Wednesday service to hear more.

The Pastor could not stop thanking us,

and the people in America who sent us.

It put feet to the ministry God started for him.

Some locals and our team ministered at the dump with about 100 children.

I met Eduardo (an 8-year-old boy) there,

and again God allowed my heart to break.

Oh, my heart!

We fed them and played with them.

It was such a day!

I so could have packed him up and kept him.

I could have kept all of them!

Today was distribution and school ministry.

The Principal allowed us to minister to 250-300 kids.

This was a public school!

It was unheard of before.

We went from class to class with the Gospel.

Only God allowed such favor!

We talked to the children about how the world labels us,

and how Jesus cuts those labels off,

and calls us His children!

Each of us spoke.

Brittany gave the Gospel to high schoolers.

What boldness!

Please keep praying.

When I felt very low and overtired,

I prayed,

and God revealed to me

that there are so many lifting us to the Father

right at that moment!

I so needed that.

Thank you for agreeing to do that for us.

We love you

and thank you all for believing in this mission.

Live from Nicaragua (Tuesday PM)

“Today was a very long day for us,

but we saw God do great things.

We had the privilege of teaming up with several local churches

to hand out Bibles door to door.

We told many people the Gospel,

encouraged them to read their shiny, new Bibles,

and laid hands on the sick.

Many gave their lives to God!

In spite of our poor attempts at the Spanish language,

God still used us to do great things!

Later in the day,

we went to one of the city dumps,

where many families live by digging through the garbage for their food and belongings.

One person said it well,

‘It was hard for us to take, but it was well received by them.’

We fed them,

demonstrated God’s love for them,

and made them feel important.

Here, many consider them ‘garbage.’

Yesterday, we helped build a house for a needy family,

did some much needed painting at the YWAM base here in Nicaragua,

and did street ministry.

We are definitely not sitting around wasting time

and, as you can see, neither is God!!

He is answering your prayers,

working in our hearts

and moving in Nicaragua!

He is a great God to say the least!!

Love, Janene and familia”

Please pray for our friends…

For the children and people of Nicaragua…

That Jesus would become real to them!!

Isaiah 52:7

“How beautiful on the mountains

are the feet of those who bring good news,

who proclaim peace,

who bring good tidings,

who proclaim salvation,

who say to Zion,

‘Your God reigns!'”

Amen!

Power Failure???

Standard

There’s never a power failure with God!

Unlike in Florida…

Where we experience power failures all the time…

Like today…

The sun was shining…

It was beautiful outside…

And our power went out!!

We’re used to it in hurricanes and lightning storms…

Prepared for it even…

But, I wasn’t prepared for a power outage today…

Electricity!!!!

I can’t live without it!

I was on the computer…

The internet went down…

Digital clocks were blinking…

The security alarm was beeping…

My hubby was watching his beloved Yankees…

And now nothing!

My son was getting ready to go out…

But can’t use the hair dryer…

Life just stands still a moment…

Or two, Or three…

I quickly forget we have no power…

I’m so used to having it available!!!!

 I go to turn on a light…

I go to microwave something…

I know I’ll freak out soon…

When I realize…

The air conditioning is dying!!!!

Help!!!

Oh, wait!

Thank You, Jesus!!!!!!

Here it comes…

The power is back…

Oh, Praise God!!

I know I need all Your power, too, Lord!

All the power Your Word says I have in Christ!

Power in Your Holy Name, Jesus!

And the power of Your Holy Spirit living in me!!

Thank You, God!!

You’ve never failed me yet!!!

Yes, We Can!!

Running around, round, round, round…

Lost in doubt, doubt, doubt…

How to stay true…

When the whole world’s against you?

But, the Spirit in you and me…

Is the very thing that lets us say…

Yes, We Can!

We raise our hands…

Get up again!

They say we’ll never make it…

Tell ’em, tell ’em, again…

Yes, We Can!

Look around, round, round, round…

People knocked down, down, down…

Move to the power of love…

Take a hand, help somebody stand up!!

On our own…

We’re headed down a dead end road…

God is with us, so we say…

Yes, We Can!

Can’t take it…

Feeling alone?

 Together we can face it!

So here we go…

We’ll let ’em know…

We’ll let the whole world know!

 Yes, We Can!

Not too young…

Not too weak…

We Can Do It!

Yes, We Can!!

 John 14:16-17

“And I will ask the Father,

and He will give you another advocate

to help you and be with you forever—

The world cannot accept Him,

because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.

But you know Him,

for He lives with you

and will be in you.”

We’re Restless! God’s Relentless!!

Standard

So many restless souls looking for God…

Humans seeking rest for the soul…

Restless…

Restless without God…

And restless for God…

Even with so many other people around…

“I think of a time…

That we are not living in now…

When injustice will cease…

When hatred will be overcome with love…

When grace will reign supreme!

And I get restless for that final course…

Are you restless with me, my friends?”

-Jon Foreman from Switchfoot at Heaven Fest 2012-

Isaiah 11:6-9

“The wolf will live with the lamb,

the leopard will lie down with the goat,

the calf and the lion and the yearling together;

and a little child will lead them.

The cow will feed with the bear,

their young will lie down together,

and the lion will eat straw like the ox.

The infant will play near the cobra’s den,

and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.

They will neither harm nor destroy on all my Holy mountain,

for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord

as the waters cover the sea.”

Pastor Charles Stanley

“Deep down,

there’s a place within each of us

that is made for one thing—

a relationship with God.

No matter how hard we try to cover it up

or fill it with something else,

we will never be satisfied.

Our hearts will remain restless

until they find their home with God.

That deep, hidden part of you is there,

even if you haven’t realized it until now.”

Jesus offers rest to all who will come to Him.

Matthew 11:28-29

“Come to Me,

all you who are weary and burdened,

and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you

and learn from Me,

for I am gentle and humble in heart,

and you will find rest for your souls.”

God wants us to search for Him while He can be found.

James 4:8

Come near to God

and He will come near to you…”

In searching and praying to know the truth about Him…

He allows Himself to be manifest to you.

James 1:5-7

“So, if any one of you is lacking in wisdom,

let him keep on asking God,

for He gives generously to all

and without reproaching;

and it will be given him.

But let him keep on asking in faith,

not doubting at all,

for he who doubts

is like a wave of the sea

driven by the wind and blown about.

In fact,

let not that man suppose

that he will receive anything from Jehovah;”

We’re restless to find God…

We’re restless for Him to come back for us!

   God’s relentless to find us!

He won’t give up!

Song of Solomon 8:6

“Set Me as a seal upon your heart,

as a seal upon your arm,

for love is strong as death,

jealousy is fierce as the grave.

It’s flashes are flashes of fire,

the very flame of the Lord.”

God’s relentless in pursuing you…

‘Til He has all of you…

Not just a part…

Don’t stay restless…

Relentlessly pursue Him…

“Til you have all of Him!

You won’t relent

Until You have it all

My heart is Yours

I’ll set You as a seal upon my heart

As a seal upon my arm

For there is love that is as strong as death

Jealousy demanding as the grave

And many waters cannot quench this love

Come be the fire inside of me

Come be the flame upon my heart

Come be the fire inside of me

Until You and I are one

John 4:23

“Yet a time is coming

and has now come

when the true worshipers

will worship the Father

in the Spirit and in truth,

for they are the kind of worshipers

the Father seeks.

God is Spirit,

and His worshipers

must worship in the Spirit

and in truth.”

2 Chronicles 16:9

“For the eyes of the Lord

range throughout the earth

to strengthen those

whose hearts are fully committed to Him…”

Relentless!

Luke 15:3-7

“Then Jesus told them this parable:

Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep

and loses one of them.

Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country

and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?

And when he finds it,

he joyfully puts it on his shoulders

and goes home.

Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says,

‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in Heaven

over one sinner who repents

than over ninety-nine righteous persons

who do not need to repent.'”

Luke 15:8-10

“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins

and loses one.

Doesn’t she light a lamp,

sweep the house

and search carefully until she finds it?

And when she finds it,

she calls her friends and neighbors together and says,

‘Rejoice with me;

I have found my lost coin.’

In the same way, I tell you,

there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God

over one sinner who repents.’”

Your God is relentless for you!!

Holy Spirit, “Super Soak” Me!

Standard

Yesterday was our last day of school!

“Yipee!!!” said all the teachers…

“Hooray!!!” said all the students…

“Oh, Dear Lord, No!” said all the parents…

Ha!

We decided to have a “Water” Fun Day to celebrate!!

Wear sandals or water shoes to school…

And bring a change of clothes!!

Let the games begin!!

It was Super Soaker Heaven!

We had water toys of all types and sizes!

Thinking I was going to merely be in the defensive mode…

If the kids were rude enough to come bother me…

In my lawn chair in the quiet, shade under the nearest tree…

I did not purchase a Super Soaker!!

My son did!!

A really nice, big one!!

I brought a ketchup/mustard “squeezy-thing,” like they have in diners!

Sometimes, I just don’t know any better!

Ha!

The kids parked themselves as near as they could get to the water spigot…

Filled and refilled their toys, cups, and the whole Tupperware container…

Soaked everything and everyone in sight!!!

While I, and one of our volunteers…

Talked, shooed them away, and tried to keep things dry!

When I tired of not joining in the fun…

I grabbed my ketchup/mustard “squirty-thing” filled with water…

And started squeezing it at everybody!!

Such fun!!!

But, I ran out of “fuel” quickly!!

While I was refilling…

The Super Soaker people got me, and got me good!!

But, I didn’t care, it was a beautiful day to be soaking wet!!

Then, I had this idea to go soak my son…

Who was soaking the older kids…

Armed with the dinky, little, plastic ketchup/mustard weapon I had…

I attacked!!

 He retaliated, and saturated me!!

I went back for reinforcements, and rallied the elementary kids to join me…

They had all the good tools that could drench!!

It worked…

I was elated to soak my son!

‘Til my son brought his troops to our territory…

Sneaked up behind me…

Aimed and fired…

As I laughed with joy!!

Great to be alive!

Very wet and happily alive!!

Unfortunately…

Some of our kids were not so joyful with our fun, wet plans for the last day of school…

One stayed home…

One slept most of the day…

Under a desk…

One refused to get wet…

And got upset when he did!!

Do you see yourself here???

When the Holy Spirit is moving…

Do you stay home?

Sleep?

Hide?

Refuse to get wet?

Let’s enjoy God’s washing…

He’s pouring out His Spirit like rain…

5-29-13 Golf Course 086“You Heavens above,

rain down My righteousness;

let the clouds shower it down.

Let the earth open wide,

let salvation spring up,

let righteousness flourish with it;

I, the LORD, have created it.”

Isaiah 45:8

5-29-13 Golf Course 061Soak it up!

Be saturated!

God’s elated to soak us…

To saturate us with His Holy Spirit…

To pour His Spirit on us…

5-28-13 Laishley Park 071“And afterward,

I will pour out my Spirit on all people.

Your sons and daughters will prophesy,

your old men will dream dreams,

your young men will see visions.”

Joel 2:28

4-29-13 Gilchrist park 064Be healed when the water’s being stirred…

“An angel of the Lord would go down into the pool from time to time

and stir up the water.

Then the first one who got in after the water was stirred up

recovered from whatever ailment he had.”

John 5:4

5-29-13 Golf Course 051Jump right in!

Wearing the right garment of praise…

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion,

to give unto them beauty for ashes,

the oil of joy for mourning,

the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

that they might be called trees of righteousness,

the planting of the LORD,

that He might be glorified.”

Isaiah 61:3

5-29-13 Golf Course 054Remember  your water shoes…

And splash away!!

God’s With Us!!

Dear Holy Spirit…

Super Soak us!

Saturate us!!

Help us to not just sit on the sidelines…

And watch while others receive Your drenching, and power!

Help us to appreciate when someone else gets filled with Your Spirit…

Or receives something overflowing from You!!

Let us be smart enough to splash in it!

Keep Your Spirit flowing…

And overflowing, in our lives!

Amen!

You’re Forgiven, Because He Was Forsaken!

“…then know this, you and all the people of Israel:

It is by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,

whom you crucified

but whom God raised from the dead,

that this man stands before you healed.

Jesus is

‘the stone you builders rejected,

which has become the cornerstone.’

Salvation is found in no one else,

for there is no other Name under Heaven given to mankind

by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:10-12

“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD:

though your sins are like scarlet,

they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red like crimson,

they shall become like wool.”

Isaiah 1:18

The past plays inside your head
Failure knocks you down again..
You’re reminded of the wrong that you have said and done…
That devil just won’t let you forget…
In this life…
You know what you’ve been…

But here in His arms
You know what you are!
You’re Forgiven!!

You don’t have to carry the weight
Of who you’ve been, ’cause you’re…
Forgiven!
Your mistakes are running through your mind
You relive your days in the middle of the night…
Struggle with your pain…
Wrestle with your pride…
Sometimes you feel alone and you cry…
But, you don’t have to carry the weight of who you’ve been…

‘Cause you’re forgiven!!

When you don’t fit in…
And you don’t feel like you belong anywhere…
When you don’t measure up to much in this life

Oh, you’re a treasure in the arms of Christ!
‘Cause you’re forgiven!!

“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness

and transferred us to the Kingdom of His Beloved Son,

in whom we have redemption,

the forgiveness of sins.”

Colossians 1:13-14

You’re forgiven because He was forsaken..
You’re accepted, He was condemned
You’re alive and well…
His Spirit is within you!

Because He died and rose again!!

Amazing love, how can it be?
That your King would die for you
Amazing love, you know it’s true
It’s your joy to honor Him!
In all you do
Honor your King!

Jesus , You are our King!!

“The LORD is merciful and gracious,

slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

He will not always chide,

nor will He keep His anger forever.

He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.

For as high as the Heavens are above the earth,

so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him;

as far as the east is from the west,

so far does He remove our transgressions from us.”

Psalm 103:8-12

Sayings vs Scripture…

Standard

Let’s dispel these “stinkin’ thinkin’ sayings…

And focus on Scripture!!

My hairdresser and I were talking…

As usual…

About our walk with the Lord…

As usual…

And we started talking about what people (friends and family) say…

That really doesn’t ring true with Christian beliefs!

She mentioned…

Luck vs Blessings

“Wish me luck…”

No, I’ll pray for God’s blessings!

Or, Superstition vs God’s Care For You

“Knock on wood.”

“Keep your fingers crossed.”

Nope, I’ll look to God, thank you!

I thought about Coincidence vs God’s Favor

Nah, nothing’s just a coincidence, I believe God has a BIG plan!!

We had to really think about these sayings…

Since we don’t think like the world anymore!!!

PRAISE GOD!

Then she said,

“How about people who laugh and say,

‘I’m going straight to hell for that one!’

They laugh!

Like it’s not so bad to go there?”

It is!

“They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction,

away from the presence of the Lord

and from the glory of His might,”

2 Thessalonians 1:9

“Right!

And my Mom would say,

‘God’s going to punish you…’

Whenever we misbehaved!”

Why didn’t we hear about His amazing grace…

And His outrageous love?”

“Yeah!!”

She said, “And what about ‘karma?’

Last time I checked, that was called…

Sowing and Reaping!

LOL!

And how about, ‘This is gonna kill me!'”

It won’t!

“No temptation has overtaken you

except what is common to mankind.

And God is faithful;

He will not let you be tempted

beyond what you can bear.

But when you are tempted,

He will also provide a way out

so that you can endure it.”

1 Corinthians 10:13

“Right!”  I said,

“And my Mom also used to say to us…

When we were especially exasperating…

 ‘I’m going to kill you!’

In my Bible…

‘Thou shalt not kill’

Is one of the Ten commandments!!”

“Right!” she said,

“I asked God to give me some more unChristian sayings…

So that we can expose the lies!!!!

Like, ‘If I eat one cookie, I have to eat them all!’

Since when does a cookie have authority over us?!

LOL!  LOL!

How about, ‘That tickles me to death!’

LOL!

Or, ‘Slap me silly!’

LOL!  Even louder!!!”

Really???

The Bible doesn’t advocate that behavior!

“God helps those who help themselves.”

Not in the Bible!

“I’ll be happy when….”

You’re a child of God, why can’t you be happy now!?!

“God is gonna send me straight to hell for …..”

God doesn’t want anyone to perish!!

“I don’t have a chance in hell!”

Why would you want one???

“Heaven’s not ready for me…

And hell doesn’t want me!”

Oh, so not true on both accounts!!

Or, is it,  “Hell’s not ready for me…

And Heaven doesn’t want me???”

Either way it’s wrong!!

Hell’s always ready…and Heaven always wants you!!

“Wish upon a star…”

“Thank your lucky stars…”

Forget that and pray to your Lord!

“The Universe!”

Ugh!!!!

Sounds like you don’t want to offend anyone!

It’s Father, Son and Holy Spirit!!

There’s power in the Name of Jesus!

Just say His Name!

“Don’t mess with Mother Nature!”

HAHAHA!!!!!

God is the Creator of all of nature!

“Gotta think about it, cuz, I really hear some good ones in this salon!!

Like…

‘I should have held the door for Mr. ‘so-and-so’

Because, you know…

My good deeds…

My corporate works of mercy…

They get me to Heaven!’

OUCH!”

Faith in Jesus Christ gets you to Heaven!

“For God so loved the world,

that He gave His only Son,

that whoever believes in Him

should not perish

but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

“Jesus said to him,

“I am the way,

and the truth,

and the life.

No one comes to the Father

except through Me.”

Easter Service at Sacred Heart!

Okay, let me set the scene for you.  It’s Easter Sunday.  My son and I taught Kids Church at our church at 9 am.  We’re very Pentecostal!  My husband is Catholic.  So on Christmas Eve and on Easter Sunday, my son and I become “C and E” Catholics, so we can go as a family to Dad’s church with him.

Perhaps not ideal.  Or, even what I pray for.  But it is what it is!!

Anyway, I know Easter Service is going to be super packed at the Catholic church, so I want to get there as soon as we can, when my son and I get home from our church.  We wore regular church clothes, instead of our Kids Church t-shirts and jeans, as we usually would, just to save time.  But, I let my son wear his black and white Converse sneakers with his black pants, because, well, who cares, right???

Anyway, my husband insists our kid come inside, and change his sneakers, and so, we got to his church right before 11 am, instead of at 10:30 am, like I planned.  There might have been a shot at getting a seat at 10:30 am, but “No Way” at 11 am!!  It’s a huge, beautiful church, just rebuilt after the hurricane!

But, folks, this is Easter Sunday…Resurrection Day!  Amen!  And Hallelujah!!

We walk in through crowds, upon crowds, of people.  I see a friend and she says, “No seats!!!”  Since the usher just gave her husband the last seat, because he had just had surgery, and wouldn’t be able to stand for an hour and a half.

I can’t either!

So we head back outside…

Walk around to the other door…

Into the overflow room!!

The overflow room has overflowed!

People have overflowed out into the vestibule…

And onto the outside walkway…

And well into the parking lot!

So we decided to stay in the vestibule, ’cause I saw a little 2″ window sill, that I mistakenly thought I could rest on.  But, at second glance, I saw that it was way too small for my behind!

What was I thinking?

Also, I had worn my really cute, little, tiny heels, since I figured,

“Hey, I’m not working and standing all day, right?

I’ll be sitting, won’t I?”

Ouch!

My mind is racing.

How to find a way to sit down…

ANYWHERE!!!

I ask the usher if there are any folding chairs? “No!”  My husband goes to the Annex Building to look.  “No!”

Then I spy a door to a kitchen, and just inside, is a little mahogany step stool!

I sneak in when the usher isn’t looking, and grab it!

Nice Christian move, huh?!?!?

I sat rather uncomfortably on this stool for the entire service,  I couldn’t even see the priest.  I peeked around the blob of people in front of me.  He was miles away, but I saw that he had white hair.  We had settled right next to the bathrooms, where people were coming and going, and flushing!  Not really conducive to worshiping!

But, with their great sound system, and I could hear every word the priest said!

All the hassle was worth it, because of the sermon I heard preached to the Catholics!!

After awhile everyone calmed down to stand in their chosen spots, and the ceremony began.    They even sang “Celebrate, Jesus, Celebrate”

Which I loved!  Real hand clapping music!  Amen!

The priest was talking about what Jesus did for us on the Cross…

“It’s Finished, Nothing Else Needs To Be Done!”

Amen!

He helps them recite their profession of faith and belief in Jesus Christ, etc.

While I’m not Catholic, my Mom’s older sister was a nun, I was raised in a Catholic town in NJ, and basically there were a hand-full of us non-Catholic Italians in our town-most of whom were related to us!!

So, if you have any questions, please go to Rebecca Hamilton’s blog called Public Catholic, at:

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/publiccatholic/

For more precise explanations of Catholic doctrines.  Her blog is awesome!

Finally, the priest got to the sermon part, and said…

“I Hope So!”

My ears perk up from my crouched position on that tiny, hard, little bench!

This is a phrase I’ve heard from my husband, since we met in high school!

Question:  “Are you going to Heaven?”

Answer:  “I hope so!”

“Where did you learn that answer?” I asked him…

Now, my husband knows a lot of Bible…thank you Catechism classes!

“I was taught,” he said,

“That the only person who is assured of going to Heaven, is the one thief on the Cross,  who said,

“Jesus, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.”

Jesus answered him,

“I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise.”

Luke 23:42-43

“That’s the only one?”  I ask.

“Where’s our Blessed Hope, then?”

“Not to know if you’re on your way to Heaven, or not…’til when?”

“‘Til after you die????”

I never got it!

And I never heard a sermon at my husband’s church addressing it…

‘Til this Easter!!!!

I was so excited!

We Pentecostals are like that!  Ha!

When the Holy Spirit reveals something…

Remember what happened in Acts Chapter 2!!

Good thing I didn’t have far to fall,

‘Cause I was about ready to fall off my stool!!!

I’m poking my husband, as the priest is saying,

“You know, we’re the only religion, that when asked if we’re going to Heaven…

We say,’We hope so!’

And, we’re the only religion that has a place called ‘Purgatory!’

Where is that, anyway???”

That’s another doctrine I couldn’t understand, either…

“No!”  he said, “Believe in Jesus as your Savior!”

Then, the priest adds,

“Also, don’t be so grouchy, Jesus wasn’t grouchy, and He died on a Cross for us, so we could go to Heaven!!”

This priest preached to a packed audience of Catholics, and friends, the sermon I’ve been praying my husband would hear for years and years.

“Did you hear that?”  I ask my husband.

He said, “No, I couldn’t hear a thing, you were talking so much!!”

Dear Holy Spirit, please reach out and open his ears!!

I was made to love You!

Jesus, I repent…

I’m following You…

I’m serving You in Confidence…

So Daddy, I’m on my way!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith.

And this is not your own doing;

it is the gift of God,

not a result of works,

so that no one may boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9  ESV

“For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only Son,

that whoever believes in him should not perish

but have eternal life.”

John 3:16  ESV

“And there is salvation in no one else,

for there is no other name under heaven given among men

by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12  ESV
