“In Him we have Redemption
through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of His grace.”
Ephesians 1:8 NIV
“I Believe”
New Devotional Booklet: by Roy Lessin
“Confessing The Truths Your Heart Believes…
I Believe… in Redemption!
I Believe… Jesus is my Redeemer!
And He has Redeemed me through His shed blood.
His Redemption means that He has bought me at a great price!
The highest price that could be paid for my ransom!
I Believe…that His ransom…
Means that I am no longer in bondage to satan…
Stuck in a horrible pit of despair…
Or a slave to sin…
I Believe… that my Redemption means that I am no longer my own…
And that my purpose it to serve Jesus…
And glorify Him!
Not unwillingly…
But from the heart…
As His bond servant…
I count it a privilege to serve Him for love’s sake…
I Believe… His ownership of my life…
Brings me great comfort…
Deep peace…
And overflowing joy!”
REDEEMED?
REJOICE!!!
“Jesus saith unto him,
‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.'”
John 14:6 KJV
“Has the Lord Redeemed you?
Then speak out!
Tell others He has Redeemed you from your enemies.”
Psalm 107:2 NLT
Thank God…Redeemed!!
The doctrine of the resurrection is one of the most fundamental teachings of the Christian faith.
“…But now is Christ risen from the dead …
even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
1 Corinthians 15:19, 22 KJV
“Our salvation and justification before God
is based upon our belief
in the resurrection of
Jesus Christ.”
Hebrews 6:1, 2 KJV
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe
in thy heart
that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 KJV
Witness…Alive…Faith…Believe…Confess…Be Saved
The sun setting on the pond on the golf course…
The warm breeze blowing on the water…
Causes moving ripples of light and color…
And shadow reflections and mirrors…
He almost doesn’t look real…
But he is!
“…It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth…
Salvation is found in no one else,
for there is no other name under heaven
given to mankind
by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:10-12 ESV
Don’t let anything distract you…
From seeing that Jesus is real, too!
How can Christians stay so focused in this world???
They’re eyes are fixed on God!
All the things of this world suddenly grow strangely dim…
Things they loved to do, or say, no longer matter…
No longer entice and ensnare them…
Worldly things fade in God’s light!
Doubts and worries go…
His Peace embraces…
All that He is…
Is all that’s important!
They seek His face…
And don’t look around…
They know who’s holding them…
Safely in His arms…
And they know the world…
Can’t offer anything that compares to that!
The Parable of the Sower
Luke 8:1-14 NIV
“After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another,
proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God…
The Twelve were with Him…
While a large crowd was gathering
and people were coming to Jesus from town after town,
He told this parable:
‘A farmer went out to sow his seed.
As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path;
it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up.
Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture.
Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants.
Still other seed fell on good soil
It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.’
When He said this, He called out, ‘Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.’
His disciples asked him what this parable meant.
He said, ‘The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you,
but to others I speak in parables,
so that, ‘though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.‘
This is the meaning of the parable:
‘The seed is the word of God.
Those along the path are the ones who hear,
and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts,
so that they may not believe and be saved.
Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it,
but they have no root.
They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.
The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear,
but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures,
and they do not mature.
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart,
who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.'”
The summary…
A sower dropped seed on the path, on rocky ground, and among thorns, and the seed was lost;
but when seed fell on good earth, it grew, yielding thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.
Jesus says, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit,
while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes
so that it will be even more fruitful.”
John 15:1-2 NIV
“I am the vine; you are the branches.
If a man remains in Me and I in him,
he will bear much fruit;
apart from Me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not remain in Me,
he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers;
such branches are picked up,
thrown into the fire and burned.”
John 15:5-6 NIV
“Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit,
so you can identify people by their actions.”
Matthew 7:20 NLT
Our goal is to persevere, grow, reach maturity, and produce more fruit!
The person who thoughtfully hears the gospel,
understands its implications,
and then consistently grows and matures,
bears much fruit as a result!
This parable must encourage us to desire and depend on Jesus to plant us in good soil,
where we can persevere through adversity to maturity and fruitfulness,
Anything else is unacceptable!
“But their minds were made dull,
for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read.
It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.
Even to this day when Moses is read,
a veil covers their hearts.
But whenever anyone turns to the Lord,
the veil is taken away.”
2 Corinthians 3:14-16
Amen!
Even the battle for your mind!
No!
I’m not giving up now…
I’m claiming victory!
I’m not giving in now…
The war’s already won!
The struggle’s between God and the devil…
Love against the enemy!
No!
I’m not giving up now…
The war’s already been won for me!!
Amen!
I just read an article by Joyce Meyer, entitled,
“Are Your Thoughts Powerful or Pitiful?
Taking Battlefield of the Mind to a New Level”
Joyce Meyer Ministries
publishes
“Enjoying Everyday Life” Magazine.
In this Special Edition issue article,
She shares “Power Thoughts” from Scripture…
To encourage you to bring your thinking into agreement with God,
So you can enjoy Him…
And His good plan for you.
Here are three “Power Thoughts” she mentions:
Power Thought #1:
God Loves Me Unconditionally!
Psalm 139:14
We are “…fearfully and wonderfully made.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
the new creation has come:
The old has gone,
the new is here.”
Power Thought #2:
I will Not Live In Fear!
“This is the day which the Lord hath made;
we will rejoice
and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24
Each morning, she says to herself,
“I will enjoy this day
and I will not live in fear.”
Power Thought #3:
I Am Difficult To Offend
“Whoever is slow to anger
is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit
than he who takes a city.”
Proverbs 16:32
Win the battle for your mind!!
The war’s already won!
You Can’t!
So Don’t Try!!
You can run, but you can’t hide!
He’s everywhere!
That’s bad for you if you’re trying to hide from Him,
But good, because you can be assured that He’s always there!
He’s already found you…
Now stop, turn around, look up, and there He is!
He loves you!
It’s like “Lost and Found” to Him!
His love embraces you…
Wraps around your hurts, your pain, your despair, your scars, your mistakes…
It wraps around everything!
“…because love covers over a multitude of sins.” I Peter 4:8 NLT
Come out of hiding…
If He loves even me…
He can love even you, too!
What are you hiding behind???
Your job? Your family? Your health? Your money?
Your wants and desires? Your reputation?
I assure you, He knows who you are and where you are!
Look up!
Or, if you knew Him in the past…
Look inside!
To that place in your heart that can only be filled with God’s Holy Spirit…
Where it can be refilled…
And ready to overflow again with His Joy…
Even in life’s difficult situations with your job, family etc.!
Adam and Eve tried to hide, too!
“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God…
As He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day…
And they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
But the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’
He answered,
‘I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked;
So I hid.’”
Genesis 8-10 NIV
In Bible study, while watching the DVD series called Frequency by Robert Morris…
Pastor Morris talked about God feeling sad when Adam said…
“I heard your voice and I was afraid.”
God created Adam and Eve to have a relationship with Him in Paradise…
He did things with them…
He walked with them in the garden…
He was always anxious to spend the day with them…
But, one morning, He finds them hiding…
They’re afraid of Him…
How it saddened God…
To lose that close intimate relationship…
Their sin had separated them from their God!
Jesus can restore the relationship…
Between you and God!
Don’t hide from God…
Even when going through a difficulty…
Come back…
Ask for forgiveness…
Do what it takes to be in a right place to hear His voice…
Don’t fear God’s voice…
Draw near to God!
You’re perfect together!
Psalm 139:1-18 NIV
“You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts,God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.”
Don’t hide from Him
You’re Beautiful!
You’re Loved!!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Matthew 24:30
“Jesus said to him,

and coming on the clouds of Heaven.’”
