Come To Your Senses! Get Down! Go Back Home!

Standard

The way up is to get down!

This was our sermon on Sunday!

It’s the cure for…

“Give me!”

“Notice me!”

“Poor me!”

When it really should be…

“Search me!”

“Make me!”

It means…

Total surrender!

To Jesus!!

Two examples…

King Nebuchadnezzar

Daniel 4: 33-37

“Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled.

He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox.

His body was drenched with the dew of heaven

until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle

and his nails like the claws of a bird.

At the end of that time,

I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven,

and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High;

I honored and glorified Him who lives forever.

His dominion is an eternal dominion;

His kingdom endures from generation to generation.

All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing.

He does as He pleases with the powers of Heaven

and the peoples of the earth.

No one can hold back His hand or say to Him:

‘What have you done?’

At the same time that my sanity was restored,

my honor and splendor were returned to me

for the glory of my kingdom.

My advisers and nobles sought me out,

and I was restored to my throne

and became even greater than before.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar,

praise and exalt and glorify the King of Heaven,

because everything He does is right

and all His ways are just.

And those who walk in pride He is able to humble.

The Prodigal Son

Luke 15:11-24

Jesus continued:

There was a man who had two sons.

The younger one said to his father,

‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’

So he divided his property between them.

Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had,

set off for a distant country

and there squandered his wealth in wild living.

After he had spent everything,

there was a severe famine in that whole country,

and he began to be in need.

So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country,

who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.

He longed to fill his stomach with the pods

that the pigs were eating,

but no one gave him anything.

When he came to his senses, he said,

‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare,

and here I am starving to death!

I will set out and go back to my father and say to him:

Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

I am no longer worthy to be called your son;

make me like one of your hired servants.’

So he got up and went to his father.

But while he was still a long way off his father saw him

and was filled with compassion for him;

he ran to his son,

threw his arms around him

and kissed him.

The son said to him,

‘Father, I have sinned against Heaven and against you.

I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

But the father said to his servants,

‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him.

Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.

Bring the fattened calf and kill it.

Let’s have a feast and celebrate.

For this son of mine was dead and is alive again;

he was lost and is found.’

So they began to celebrate.”

There’s a downside to being puffed up…
Our inside is empty of the one thing…
Our heart truly needs
We feel invincible…
It’s always all about us!
Let’s love Him like we should…
Like He loves us!
Through bad and good…
And finally figure out where happiness is found!
In the midst of sadness…
We are closer to Him now…
And that’s the upside of down!
It’s all switched around…
I was lost and now I’m found!
The upside of down!!
He is “more” in our “less…”
He is strength in our weakness…
Don’t go back again
His sunshine ends the rain!!
Don’t return to your old ways…
Don’t be a fair- weather friend!
The upside of tragedies…
Is knowing He’s holding your heart always…
Always!!!
  We may be down…
But find the joy in the pain…
The upside of down!
It’s all switched around…
I was lost and now I’m found!
The upside of down!!
Amen!!

Light Pushes Back Darkness!!

Josh Wilson’s story behind…

“Pushing Back the Dark”

http://www.joshwilsonmusic.com/posts/07-18-13/story-behind-pushing-back-dark

“I was in seventh grade.

It was five minutes until our Wednesday night youth service,

and I was hiding,

sitting on the cold tile of a bathroom in a dark corner of our church.

They were about to start the worship music,

and I was supposed to be playing guitar.

I told them I was sick and couldn’t go.

I wasn’t sick.  I was scared.

I was scared of what everyone else might think of me.

What if I messed up?

What if I failed miserably?

God had given me a talent and passion for music,

but I was afraid to use it.

To this day, the darkness of doubt pushes me to avoid my calling.

Last year, as I was working on this album (Carry Me),

that darkness became tangible

as I began to struggle with anxiety and panic attacks.

At one point, I thought I might have to quit music altogether.

But God promises to never leave or forsake us,

and He kept that promise.

As he carried me through the rest of the record,

I realized that there will always be darkness pushing me to hide.

At some point, though, every Christ-follower

has to realize that we carry a sacred,

burning light that is infinitely more powerful than the lies of the enemy.

Your light might seem small,

but even the smallest act of love can illuminate the shadows.

To every single mother,

every missionary,

every doctor

and poet,

every seventh grader who is scared to sing in youth group,

every truck driver,

politician,

and school teacher,

anyone who is rich,

poor,

young

or old:

someone else desperately needs the light you carry.

I think it’s time that we each take that light

and start pushing back the dark.

Ultimately, this difficult season has caused me

to rely on God’s strength

to carry me through each day.

I’ve been praying more often and more earnestly,

and I’m thankful that coming to the end of myself

has brought me so close to a

Father and Savior

who loves me and will never leave me.”

Oh, yes, this is so true!!

There are a million reasons not to try!!

When you’re just one candle in the dark…

Where the shadows are scary…

Thinking you don’t have what it takes!!

Do you dare to try to make a change?

Never underestimate the God you follow!

Don’t look back…

Somebody needs the light you have!

Don’t lose heart…

Keep on pushing back the dark!!

Be a shining city on a hill…

Every sinner saved by grace…

Has a purpose and a place!

Sometimes we don’t understand the bigger plan!

Just keep walking on…

To see His Kingdom come!

 Let your lights all shine…

He’s the Light that burns inside your soul…

You’ve got keep shining for the whole world to know…

Even when you feel like you’re too small…

We all need to shine…

Like sunrise through the window…

A symphony crescendo…

Wake up…

Rise from the dead…

Shine like stars…

Pushing back the dark!!

With your lights!

Push back the darkness at every step…

Light pushes back darkness!!

Amen!!

“This is the message we have heard from Him

and declare to you:

God is light;

in Him there is no darkness at all.”

Are You A “HIStory” Maker?????

Standard

My son and I went up to “Rise Up” YEX 2013 camp last night in Bradenton…

http://explosiveyouth.com/rise-up/

at Christian Retreat…

http://www.christianretreat.org/

The speaker was Jeanne Mayo

She spoke bluntly about love relationships!

Based on the Scripture:

2 Samuel 13

About Amnon and Tamar

It was powerful!!

And very well received by the packed sanctuary of teens!!

Many came to the altar,

To “Rise Up”

And to run…

Into the arms of our Lord!

According to:

http://explosiveyouth.com/2013-speakers/

“Jeanne Mayo is acclaimed by Ministries Today as…

‘America’s Number One Youth Pastor’

She’s  thrown her heart and passion into youth ministry for over four decades…

Her ministry DNA is reflected in her life mission statement:

‘The motivation and mentorship of Kamikaze Christianity into practicing and potential Kingdom champions.’

Jeanne’s successful ministry has placed her in high demand as a youth ministry…

And youth leadership communicator…

She has criss- crossed the U.S. and the globe…

Speaking in countless venues to teenagers…

And college students as well as their leaders…

As she continues to travel, one of her greatest joys…

Is to re-connect with some of the hundreds of…

Spiritual sons and daughters in full-time ministry all over the world…

Jeanne considers her most cherished accolades, though…

To be centered around her family…

She is the proud mom of two adult sons, Josh and Justin…

Who are both also in full-time ministry…

And the adoring ‘Nana’ of two young grandsons…

Elijah and Judah…

Her cherished husband remains her ‘boyfriend and hero’

After over 40 years of marriage and ministry together….

Jeanne’s life mantra comes from missionary Jim Elliot….

His words capture the essence of her heart and life’s mission:

‘He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose.’”

The worship by Tyrelle Mustafa last night was amazing!!

My favorite Christian Rock song of the evening was:

Is it true today that when people pray
Cloudless skies will break
Kings and queens will shake?
Yes, it’s true and I believe it!
I’m living for You!

Is it true today that when people pray
We’ll see dead men rise
And the blind set free?
Yes, it’s true and I believe it!
I’m living for You?

I’m gonna be a “HIStory” maker in this land!
I’m gonna be a speaker of truth to all mankind!
I’m gonna stand, I’m gonna run!
Into Your arms, into Your arms again!!

Yes, it’s true today that when people stand
With the fire of God, and the truth in hand
We’ll see miracles, we’ll see angels sing!
We’ll see broken hearts making “HIStory!”
Yes, it’s true and we believe it!!
We’re living for You!!

We were all born to be “HIStory” makers!!!!!

Mom Brown’s Legacy Lives On…

Standard

This was written by my dear cousin…

To read at the funeral…

To honor her Mother-in-law…

When she passed from this earth…

into the loving arms of our…

Lord Jesus Christ...

 “My Mother-in law,

who we called Mom Brown,

touched so many,

in so many different and amazing ways,

myself included!

I can relate story after story concerning the generosity,

kindness, spiritual wisdom, and guidance

she bestowed on this fast talking,

hard to understand at times,

Jersey Girl.

But I have selected one powerful,

life changing example

that began over 24 years ago,

just after I married her son.

    She gave me a gift,

the first book of many that followed.

It was a book entitled,

My Utmost for His Highest

by Oswald Chambers.

7-20-13 Golf course 220

It is a daily devotional

that has a month and day at the top of each page,

common to most devotionals on the market today.

However, at this time in my life,

I had never purchased one

and was unfamiliar with its true purpose.

I started reading it daily on July 1, 1989

and when I completed the June 30th reading a year later,

I stored it on my library shelf,

feeling a sense of accomplishment

that I had made my way through a year of these very deep

and complicated writings by a man who lived in the nineteenth century.

A few weeks later, Mom asked me

if I was reading the book she gave me.

I replied,

“Yes, I finished it and placed it on my library shelf for safe keeping.”

I have to admit, her response set me back a bit.

She said, “Oh, no,

you have to keep reading it,

year after year,

and each year it will mean something different to you

and you will understand it better and better,

as the years pass.”

The thought of getting the book off the shelf

and reading it again really didn’t appeal to me.

However, the excitement and enthusiasm in her reply

motivated me to give it a shot.

This book has become one of my most prized possessions.

I carry it on every trip I take,

and read it every day.

And you know what?

Mom Brown was absolutely,

positively right!

Each year it provides more incite into the woman who gave it to me

and her best friend,

Jesus!

7-20-13 Golf course 156

My husband and I started reading it together,

most likely around 1999.

I don’t know why it took me 10 years to start sharing it with him,

but maybe it was because I understood the passages more and more

and realized,

“You don’t keep something so special to yourself!”

We both read it every morning still to this day.

However, because my copy has a broken binding

and many pages are loose and on occasion fall to the floor,

and also because there are so many of my written notes covering the pages;

My husband purchased his own leather bound copy several years ago.

He realized I was never replacing mine.

We have grown so much spiritually, both individually and together as a couple,

thanks to our dear departed Mom

who read this book every day of her life for over 40 years

and lived the scriptures quoted in it to the max!

I have been so blessed to have known her

and to have her influence in my life.”

…and do not forsake your mother’s teachings.

They will be a garland to grace your head

and a chain to adorn your neck.

“I always keep extra copies on hand to pass out to others.

I have several with me today

and if anyone would like one of these books,

please take it before you leave.

I would like you to think of it,

not as a gift from me,

but instead a gift from Mom Brown…

so her legacy can live on!

Our friends from church,

image

Mike and Janene Harper and their family (Brittany, Bethany, and Nataley)

are in Nicaragua working with

YWAM (Youth With A Mission)

http://www.ywam.org/

for about 10 days.

Many in our church family have helped sponsor and support them

on their last couple of trips.

Our Pastor shared last Sunday

about being the “Salt & Light” of the World…

Now they’re sharing the Light of Christ in Nicaragua.

He asked for prayer for them and the team that is there,

along with the country they’re serving…

Prayer for their safety,

for the people there who do not know Jesus,

and that lives will be forever changed!

Here’s the latest update from the Harper’s

and it’s truly amazing to read.

“Boy, are we beat!

We spent yesterday in the town of Masatepe learning the town.

We began prayer-walks all over the city that we’ll distribute Bibles in.

They’re hard covered whole Bibles,

and the people are so excited we’re coming.

image(1)

The churches were asked to respond, if they wanted to help.

Over 35 churches and 180 people responded!

Amazing!

Today our 4 teams of 12 will start distribution.

My team will be at the construction site

and at the YWAM base, building a home,

and working on updating the base.

This town is Dirambe.

It’s a very poor area,

where the base started its vision in 1996

of getting a Bible into the hands of every Nicaraguan family by 2020.

This first city reached, has seen dramatic changes in crime and violence.

They have become a city with Hope!

 They love Jesus!

And now reach other cities!

I can’t wait to visit this city again.

Kelly, the director, should be there today.

He has been a missionary in Nicaragua

through YWAM for a long time.

We’ve worked with him before,

so it’s nice to know a face there.

The YWAM school we are considering is his school.

It’s a bilingual school.

My husband, Mike, preached last night

for about half an hour

on the importance of relationship with Christ,

and allowing that overflow to pour out to others.

The Nicas “Amend-ed” and agreed!

He had a translator, who is our team leader.

She’s from Spain.

Her name is Gail.

They worked great together.

The church was an Assembly of God.

It was a whopping 1 1/2 hour worship time.

Wow!

We sang,

‘Open The Eyes Of My Heart, Lord’

in English and Spanish

Wow!

How it pleases God’s heart to hear our worship!!

We’re all still well, so far.

We’ve eaten many foods and styles of foods.

It was hard on the tummy at first,

but it’s getting better.

We’ve had an amazing several days.

God’s given the girls great boldness in witnessing.

We’ve been distributing Bibles with churches.

My team has 2 precious Nica ladies.

They helped me lead a family

to Jesus, who

they had never even heard of.

I got to tell them the whole story.

They cried,

and were excited to give their lives to Christ.

When we left,

we saw them reading the Bible already.

Amazing!

Their names were taken down by the local church,

who saw many families already added to their numbers.

The church had new people show up for the Wednesday service to hear more.

The Pastor could not stop thanking us,

and the people in America who sent us.

It put feet to the ministry God started for him.

Some locals and our team ministered at the dump with about 100 children.

I met Eduardo (an 8-year-old boy) there,

and again God allowed my heart to break.

Oh, my heart!

We fed them and played with them.

It was such a day!

I so could have packed him up and kept him.

I could have kept all of them!

Today was distribution and school ministry.

The Principal allowed us to minister to 250-300 kids.

This was a public school!

It was unheard of before.

We went from class to class with the Gospel.

Only God allowed such favor!

We talked to the children about how the world labels us,

and how Jesus cuts those labels off,

and calls us His children!

Each of us spoke.

Brittany gave the Gospel to high schoolers.

What boldness!

Please keep praying.

When I felt very low and overtired,

I prayed,

and God revealed to me

that there are so many lifting us to the Father

right at that moment!

I so needed that.

Thank you for agreeing to do that for us.

We love you

and thank you all for believing in this mission.

Live from Nicaragua (Tuesday PM)

“Today was a very long day for us,

but we saw God do great things.

We had the privilege of teaming up with several local churches

to hand out Bibles door to door.

We told many people the Gospel,

encouraged them to read their shiny, new Bibles,

and laid hands on the sick.

Many gave their lives to God!

In spite of our poor attempts at the Spanish language,

God still used us to do great things!

Later in the day,

we went to one of the city dumps,

where many families live by digging through the garbage for their food and belongings.

One person said it well,

‘It was hard for us to take, but it was well received by them.’

We fed them,

demonstrated God’s love for them,

and made them feel important.

Here, many consider them ‘garbage.’

Yesterday, we helped build a house for a needy family,

did some much needed painting at the YWAM base here in Nicaragua,

and did street ministry.

We are definitely not sitting around wasting time

and, as you can see, neither is God!!

He is answering your prayers,

working in our hearts

and moving in Nicaragua!

He is a great God to say the least!!

Love, Janene and familia”

Please pray for our friends…

For the children and people of Nicaragua…

That Jesus would become real to them!!

are the feet of those who bring good news,

who proclaim peace,

Fibromyalgia

Standard

Here’s the first part of a research paper I wrote…

for the Human Growth and Development course…

I took 2 years ago…

To renew my Florida Teaching Certificate…

I pray it helps someone…

Because prayer helped me!!

Fibromyalgia

“The primitive physical, functional pattern of the morning of life, the active years before forty or fifty, is outlived.  But there is still the afternoon opening up, which one can spend not in the feverish pace of the morning, but in having time at last for those intellectual, cultural, and spiritual activities that were pushed aside in the heat of the race.”

-Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Gift from the Sea, 1955

“Most middle-aged Americans are quite healthy, however, baby boomers may be less healthy than previous generations and the youngest cohorts reported more pain, chronic, health conditions, difficulty getting around, than those who had been the same age 12 years earlier.  Despite their generally good health, many people in midlife experience increasing health problems or are concerned about signs of potential decline.  They may experience less energy than in their youth and are likely to experience occasional or chronic pains and fatigue.”

(Human Growth and Development/Papalia, Pg. 491)

I have just been recently (by process of elimination!) been tentatively diagnosed with a mild case of fibromyalgia.  The information I found rings so true and answers so many questions I’ve had for quite a number of years.  This research paper is a gift I gave myself.

What is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes chronic pain and effects 2 to 4 % of the population, predominantly women.  It is a widely misunderstood clinical syndrome with multiple symptoms that commonly occur together, and defined by widespread muscle pain, decreased pain threshold, and tender points which tend to come and go, and move about the body.  This common and chromic condition can also be associated with, sleep disturbances along with cognitive and memory problems (often called “fibro fog”), and incapacitating fatigue.

Many people with fibromyalgia also experience additional symptoms such as headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, irritable bladder, temporomandibular joint disorder (which is the joint between the head of the lower jawbone and the temple and frequently referred to as TMJ), pelvic pain, restless leg syndrome, sensitivity to noise and temperature, anxiety, and depression.  These symptoms can vary in intensity and come and go, in the same way as the pain of fibromyalgia often does.

Fibromyalgia is not a form of arthritis (joint disease) and does not cause inflammation or damage to joints, muscles, or other tissues.  However, because fibromyalgia can cause chronic pain and fatigue similar to arthritis it may be thought of as rheumatic condition.  As a result, it is often the rheumatologist who makes the diagnosis (and rules out other rheumatic diseases), but your primary care physician can provide care and treatment for fibromyalgia.

If you are diagnosed with fibromyalgia, try to learn all you can about the condition, so you can dispel myths and misconceptions about fibromyalgia.  Learning all you can about fibromyalgia is the first step toward gaining control of your symptoms.

What causes fibromyalgia?

No one knows what causes fibromyalgia.  However, doctors do know that people with fibromyalgia can have abnormal levels of substance P in their spinal fluid, a chemical that helps transmit and amplify pain signals to and from the brain.  For a person with fibromyalgia, it’s as though the ‘volume control’ is turned up too high in the brain’s pain processing areas.  Current studies are underway to examine how the brain and spinal cord (the central nervous system) processes pain and the role Substance P and other nerve transmitters play.

According to Dr.Horst H. Mueller, RPsych, CRHSPP, FBCIA(EEG), “recent research increasingly points to the brain as key to understanding fibromyalgia. There is growing consensus among researchers that fibromyalgia is a pain amplification syndrome in which central nervous system plasticity plays a major role in symptom onset and maintenance. Neural plasticity refers to the way the neurological systems (sensory, motor and central) react and adapt over time to repeated stimulation of chronic pain.”

EEG Stimulation:  Neurotherapy and Fibromyalgia by Dr. Mary Lee Esty

Dr. Mary Lee Esty believes fibromyalgia (FMS) is misnamed because the dysfunction is in the brain, not in the muscle fibers.  Trauma-induced changes in the central nervous system (CNS) perpetuate FMS symptoms.  The CNS ability to filter and process signals is modified, leaving increased perception of pain.  Dr. Esty has found that most FMS patients seen in her clinic have a history of mild or moderate brain trauma. When brain cells are damaged by physical or biochemical trauma, imbalances appear, regardless of the cause of damage.  The first 2 grades of concussion do not involve loss of consciousness and many people remain unaware that they have sustained a concussion.  Brain trauma is cumulative.  Minor brain traumas through life can culminate in a variety of major dysfunctions.  The majority of FMS patients have had brain trauma that is sufficient to affect functioning.

Genetics, also, appear to play a role leading to a family tendency to develop fibromyalgia.  Also, everyday life exposure to physical, emotional, or environmental stressors may trigger the initiation of fibromyalgia symptoms.” Some possible triggers may include:  A physically traumatic or stressful event, an emotionally stressful event, an illness, or an immune disorder.

How is fibromyalgia diagnosed?

Unfortunately, there are no ‘objective markers,’ such as evidence on X-rays, blood tests, muscle biopsies, or other diagnostic tests, for fibromyalgia, so patients must be diagnosed based on the symptoms they’re experiencing, and on a physical examination by the doctor.  Medication, while important, is not the only treatment:  Patient education, exercise, self-management skills, and alternative therapies help treat fibromyalgia symptoms.

According to Dr. Clauw and Denise Taylor Moon, “because pain and tenderness are the defining characteristics of fibromyalgia, medical care providers focus on the features of the pain to distinguish it from other rheumatic disorders.  For instance hypothyroidism and polymyalgia rheumatic often mimic fibromyalgia.  However, blood tests for TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) and ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) values can differentiate these diagnoses from fibromyalgia.  Occasionally, fibromyalgia can be confused with other rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, but again, there is difference as these conditions cause inflammation in the joints and tissues.”

Who gets fibromyalgia?

While men and adolescents can develop fibromyalgia, this condition is more common in women.  The disorder tends to develop during early and middle adulthood or during a woman’s childbearing years.  Those who have a rheumatic disease such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis are also at risk for developing fibromyalgia.

In an interview with Connie Luedtke, R.N., the nursing supervisor of the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Clinic at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., she answered questions about some of the most common misconceptions about fibromyalgia:

What is the most common misconception about fibromyalgia?

“The top misconception is that people think fibromyalgia isn’t a real medical problem or that it is‘all in your head.’ It’s sometimes thought of as a ‘garbage-can diagnosis’ — if doctors can’t find anything else wrong with you, they say you have fibromyalgia. Being diagnosed with fibromyalgia does require that you meet specific criteria, including painful tender points above and below the waist on both sides of the body.

There’s a lot that’s unknown about fibromyalgia, but researchers have learned more about it in just the past few years. In people who have fibromyalgia, the brain and spinal cord process pain signals differently; they react more strongly to touch and pressure, with a heightened sensitivity to pain. It is a real physiological and neurochemical problem.”

Why does this misconception persist?

“In our society, people tend to think that there is a cure or a fix for every medical problem. You go to the doctor, expecting he or she will fix whatever’s wrong with you with medication or surgery. It’s frustrating to people with fibromyalgia because the traditional treatment approach isn’t effective. And it’s also frustrating to health care providers because they want to help people. But there’s no easy fix. It takes lifestyle changes and small steps toward achieving wellness. It’s a process.”

How have misconceptions about fibromyalgia changed over the years?

“More people understand that fibromyalgia is a real problem, often because they know someone who has it — perhaps a sister or daughter or mother. Health care providers are seeing that people who have fibromyalgia can manage their symptoms with lifestyle changes to improve their overall functioning and quality of life. And there’s hope for the future.”

Amen!

The hope for the future is in His healing power!!

who heals all your diseases; …”

Philippians 3:12-16

“Not that I have already obtained all this,

or have already arrived at my goal,

but I press on

to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Brothers and sisters,

I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.

But one thing I do:

Forgetting what is behind

and straining toward what is ahead,

I press on

toward the goal

to win the prize

for which God

has called me Heavenward

in Christ Jesus.

All of us, then,

who are mature should take such a view of things.

And if on some point you think differently,

that too God will make clear to you.

Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

Hebrews 12:1-2

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,

let us throw off everything that hinders

and the sin that so easily entangles.

And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

For the joy set before Him

He endured the cross, scorning its shame,

and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

7-10-13 Walk & Gilchrist 002

Matthew 25:23

“His master replied,

‘Well done, good and faithful servant!

You have been faithful with a few things;

I will put you in charge of many things.

Come and share your master’s happiness!’”

7-10-13 Walk & Gilchrist 026

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run,

but only one gets the prize?

Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.

They do it to get a crown that will not last,

but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly;

I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.

No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave

so that after I have preached to others,

I myself will not be disqualified for the prize”

7-10-13 Walk & Gilchrist 033

1 Timothy 6:12

“Fight the good fight of the faith.

Take hold of the eternal life

to which you were called

when you made your good confession

in the presence of many witnesses.”

7-8-13 Laishley Park 015

Plod On

Plod on. Plod On.

Whatever life does,I’ll plod on.

Whatever the weather;

Whatever’s in my way;

Whatever life does,

I’ll plod on every day.

My life is there to live

And I’m living it well.

I can succeed in my own special way.

Whatever life does, I’ll plod on every day.

Success doesn’t have to be instant,

Just as long as it comes in the end,

I’m plodding, slowly but surely.

No problem is too big, and there’s no rule I can’t bend.

Plod on. Plod on. That’s the way to go.

If it feels good – do it! Never mind the trend.

There’s nothing to it. It’s a life I recommend – Plod on!

Plod on. Plod on.

Whatever life does I’ll plod on.

My Beliefs by Bella Grace

Check out her entire blog!!

I am a BELIEVER first!

Romans 10:9-13 NIV

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

I am a CHRISTIAN next!

1 Peter 4:16 NIV

However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

I believe in ONLY ONE GOD!

1 Corinthians 8:6 NIV

yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

I was called to EVANGELIZE!

Ephesians 4:11-12 NIV

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

I am a MINISTER!

Deuteronomy 18:5 NIV

for the Lord your God has chosen them and their descendants out of all your tribes to stand and minister in the Lord’s name always.

I am an OVERCOMER!

Philippians 4:13 NIV

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

I am a VIRTUOUS WOMAN!

Proverbs 31 NIV

I was called to WORSHIP HIM!

1 Samuel 1:28 NIV

So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.

I was created to PRAISE HIM!

Psalm 150:6 NIV

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

I LIVE for Him!

John 15:7 NIV

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you

My job is to LOVE!

John 15:12 NIV

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
This is who I am…
Be encouraged. Be inspired. Be who He created you to be.
With Love Always,
Bella Grace
