Sitting On The Fence? Ouch!

Standard

photo(34)

(I received this photo through e-mail…photographer unknown!)

Who owns this adorable dog???

The people in the brown house?

Or the people on the other side of the fence?

Is this dog coming home?

Or running away?

Who owns you?

Jesus or satan???

Are you coming home?

Or are you running away?

Get off the fence!

Sitting on the fence hurts!

It hurts us, and it hurts others…

Lack of commitment to Jesus holds us back!

We can’t help anyone…

Or disciple people from the fence…

Satan keeps us bound to it!

We can only help others from a position of total freedom…

Of true liberty in Jesus…

From our position at the foot of the Cross!

Are we too complacent to make an effort to get off the fence?

Choose Jesus!

Encourage others to get off the fence, too!

Help them see Jesus’ glorious face…

At the gate ahead in Heaven…

Show them His love in you…

Point them to Heaven…

So they can turn their back on hell!

It’s the right direction to receive abundant blessings…

From our Lord and Savior.

Jump off the fence!

Today!

All the way off!

For once and for all!

Into the arms of Jesus!

And stay as far away from the fence as you can!

Stop trying to run away!

And go home!

“Afterward Jesus appeared again to His disciples, by the Sea of Galilee.

It happened this way:

Simon Peter, Thomas, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee,

the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.

‘I’m going out to fish,’ Simon Peter told them,

and they said, ‘We’ll go with you.’

So they went out and got into the boat,

but that night they caught nothing.

Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore,

but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.

He called out to them, ‘Friends, haven’t you any fish?’

‘No,’ they answered.

He said, ‘Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.’

When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter,

‘It is the Lord!’

As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, ‘It is the Lord,’

he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off)

and jumped into the water.

The other disciples followed in the boat,

towing the net full of fish,

for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.

When they landed,

they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.

Jesus said to them,

‘Bring some of the fish you have just caught.’

So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat

and dragged the net ashore.

It was full of large fish, 153,

but even with so many the net was not torn.”

Hiding From God???

Standard

You Can’t!

So Don’t Try!!

You can run, but you can’t hide!

He’s everywhere!

That’s bad for you if you’re trying to hide from Him,

But good, because you can be assured that He’s always there!

He’s already found you…

Now stop, turn around, look up, and there He is!

He loves you!

It’s like “Lost and Found” to Him!

His love embraces you…

Wraps around your hurts, your pain,  your despair,  your scars, your mistakes…

It wraps around everything!

“…because love covers over a multitude of sins.”  I Peter 4:8 NLT

Come out of hiding…

If He loves even me…

He can love even you, too!

What are you hiding behind???

Your job?  Your family?  Your health?  Your money?

Your wants and desires?  Your reputation?

I assure you, He knows who you are and where you are!

Look up!

Or, if you knew Him in the past…

Look inside!

To that place in your heart that can only be filled with God’s Holy Spirit…

Where it can be refilled…

And ready to overflow again with His Joy…

Even in life’s difficult situations with your job, family etc.!

Adam and Eve tried to hide, too!

“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God…

As He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day…

And they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

But the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’

He answered,

‘I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked;

So I hid.’”

Genesis 8-10  NIV

In Bible study, while watching the DVD series called Frequency by Robert Morris…

Pastor Morris talked about God feeling sad when Adam said…

“I heard your voice and I was afraid.”

God created Adam and Eve to have a relationship with Him in Paradise…

He did things with them…

He walked with them in the garden…

He was always anxious to spend the day with them…

But, one morning, He finds them hiding…

They’re afraid of Him…

How it saddened God…

To lose that close intimate relationship…

Their sin had separated them from their God!

Jesus can restore the relationship…

Between you and God!

Don’t hide from God…

Even when going through a difficulty…

Come back…

Ask for forgiveness…

Do what it takes to be in a right place to hear His voice…

Don’t fear God’s voice…

Draw near to God!

You’re perfect together!

Psalm 139:1-18 NIV

“You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts,God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.”

Don’t hide from Him

No More Tears!

Listen to:

“There Will Be A Day”

By Jeremy Camp

Several years ago, one of the girls in our drama team did a solo lyrical dance to this song

for the Penn Florida District Fine Arts Competition in Orlando…

Beautiful!

Here are the lyrics…

“I try to hold on to this world…

With everything I have…

But I feel the weight of what it brings…

And the hurt that tries to grab…

The many trials that seem to never end…

His word declares this truth…

That we will enter in this rest with wonders anew…

But I hold on to this hope…

And the promise that He brings…

That there will be a place with no more suffering…

There will be a day with no more tears…

No more pain…

And no more fears…

There will be a day when the burdens of this place…

Will be no more…

We’ll see Jesus face to face…

But until that day…

We’ll hold on to you always…

I know the journey seems so long…

You feel you’re walking on your own…

But there has never been a step…

Where you’ve walked out all alone…

Troubled soul don’t lose your heart…

‘Cause joy and peace He brings…

And the beauty that’s in store…

Outweighs the hurt of life’s sting…

But I hold onto this hope…

And the promise that He brings…

That there will be a place with no more suffering…

There will be a day with no more tears…

No more pain, and no more fears…

There will be a day when the burdens of this place…

Will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face…

But until that day, we’ll hold on to you always…

I can’t wait until that day where the very one…

I’ve lived for always…

Will wipe away the sorrow that I’ve faced…

To touch the scars that rescued me…

From a life of shame and misery…

Oh, this is why…

This is why I sing…

There will be a day with no more tears…

No more pain…

And no more fears…

There will be a day…

He will wipe away the tears…

He will wipe away the tears…

He will wipe away the tears…

There will be a day!”

I’ve Decided To Love…

Standard

Yes!

To love you!!

Even though…

You…

My spouse, my father, my mother, my son, my daughter, my family or my friend…

Whoever you are…

Make me crazy at times…

Or annoy me with your habits…

Don’t appreciate me…

Or pay enough attention to me…

Get on my last nerve…

Or make a mess for me to clean up…

Bark orders…

Or give me the silent treatment…

Aren’t punctual…

Or snore…

Don’t call…

Or call too much…

Expect too much of me…

Or give too little of yourself…

Are too negative…

Or too needy…

Too loud…

Or too intolerant…

Whatever we disagree about…

Or however different we are…

I choose to love you…

Because God does!

I want to love like this…

As God does!

I want to live like that!

Listen to:

“Live Like That” by Sidewalk Prophets

“Sometimes I think…

What will people say of me…

When I’m only just a memory…

When I’m home where my soul belongs…

Was I love?

When no one else would show up…

Was I Jesus to the least of those…

Was my worship more than just a song…

I want to live like that!

And give it all I have…

So that everything I say and do…

Points to You…

If love is who I am

Then this is where I’ll stand…

Recklessly abandoned…

Never holding back…

I want to live like that!

Am I proof…

That You are who you say You are…

That grace can really change a heart…

Do I live like Your love is true?

People pass…

And even if they don’t know my name…

Is there evidence that I’ve been changed…

When they see me, do they see You…

I want to live like that!

I want to show the world the love You gave for me…

I’m longing for the world to know the glory of the King…

I want to live like that!”

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
“Love is patient and kind…
Love does not envy or boast…
It is not arrogant or rude…
It does not insist on its own way…
It is not irritable or resentful…
It does not rejoice at wrongdoing…
But rejoices with the truth…
Love bears all things…
Believes all things…
Hopes all things…
Endures all things…
Love never ends…”
So it’s final…
I’ve decided to love!

But, I love that many of you do want to do these things!

And I’ll pray for your “Bucket List” to be fulfilled…

But, I refuse to live without JOY everyday…

So, I do have a Prayer List…

And here’s what’s on it:

I do want to…

Write a book…

And have it published…

See my son successful in life, especially in God’s eyes…

See him married to a Godly girl, and have a family that serves the Lord…

To live healthy, so I can see my grandchildren…

And teach them to love God…

Live a peaceful life with the Lord…

But, know how to battle spiritual warfare when necessary!

Impact for Christ, all kids, young adults, and adults…

Minister and speak where God leads…

Encourage our drama team to outreach far and wide with God’s direction…

Travel to Italy to see relatives still living there…

Go to Israel to see where Jesus walked…

Serve the Lord on Earth, ’til I get to Heaven to hear…

“…well done, good and faithful servant…”

Mathew 25:23

Leave a legacy of love and encouragement…

To all those…

I’ve been blessed to come into contact with in my life on Earth…

In Jesus Name I pray…

Amen!

I’ve Changed My Mind…

Standard

Again…

Yes, I have!

Many times over the  years!!

Like the time when, newly married in our first apartment in NJ, we bought a pine roll-top desk…

Had it stained a dark walnut…

Used it and loved it!

Then, some of my friends took me to an antique auction, and I saw my first antique oak roll top desk…

An “Ah-ha” moment, for sure…

I definitely changed my mind!

And fell in love with something new!

Or, when we moved to FL…

And finally got to buy furniture we loved…

Instead of family hand-me-downs…

We bought a master bedroom suite…

Loved it…

Then I saw on HGTV that “matchy, matchy” wasn’t IN anymore…

Uh-Oh!

Here we go again…

I’m not an overly fickle person, I only buy things I really, really, love…

So when we got to choose stuff for our house in FL…

I chose colors, textures, and patterns that I could love for a long time…

Like curtains, carpets, room colors, tile, light fixtures, pool tiles, lanai screen, etc.

I don’t want to keep changing my mind!!

It’s frustrating…

Well, we have a God that loves us!

Always!

God never changes His mind about us…ever!

He loved us yesterday…

He loves us today…

And, He’ll love us tomorrow!!

He’s not fickle at all!!

It keeps our  life and our heart so peaceful…

Have you changed your mind lately?

If you don’t know Jesus…

That’s the only change you need to make!

Change your mind and accept Him…

And then He’ll show you…

That He’ll never change His mind about you…

He’ll never want something new…

No “Ah-ha” moments…

No “Uh-Oh!”

Or, falling in love with something else…

He created you…

He loves you!!

That’s final!

No game change…

He will never change His mind about that!

Ahhhhh….peace!

Listen to “When Mercy Found Me”

by Rhett Walker Band

Here are the lyrics:

“Something had to give, something had to give…

‘Cause living my life so wild and free, finally caught up…

Oh, it left me broken, left me hopeless…

But that’s where I met Jesus…

In one moment everything changed…
Who I was got washed away…
When mercy found me…
My Savior’s arms were open wide…
And I felt love for the very first time…
When mercy found me…
All those days, all those doubts…
They don’t seem to matter now…
His Grace is all I need…
And the chains that I was in before…
They don’t hold me anymore…
His love has rescued me…
His love has set me free…
In one moment everything changed…
Who I was got washed away…
When mercy found me…
My Savior’s arms were open wide…
And I felt love for the very first time…
When mercy found me…
My mind found peace…
My soul found hope…
My heart found a home…
In one moment everything changed…
Who I was got washed away…
When mercy found me…
My Savior’s arms were open wide…
And I felt love for the very first time…
When mercy found me…”
Yes, it felt exactly like this!!  Amen!
