I Didn’t Understand Its Value…

My husband’s prized…

That he’s had since he was a kid!

My husband’s dad knew them from the Newark league…

Before they played with the Newark Bears…

Which at the time was the Triple A Yankee minor league!!

They were watching the Yankees at batting practice…

Hank Bauer got in the dug out and said to everyone…

“Sign the ball for the kid!”

The Yankees lost that game to Warren Spahn…

But my husband really cherished that ball!

He says it’s worth about $4,000-$5,000!

Well…

When our sweet little boy was around two years old, perhaps…

I remember he and I were at home, while my husband was at work…

I was trying to wrap Christmas presents…

My rambunctious, little guy was no help at all!!

Sooooooo…

Wanting to distract him…

So I could get this job done…

I grabbed this treasured ball of my husband’s…

And gave it to the child to play with!!!!!

I know…

If you’re a baseball fan…

Or even a collector of anything…

You’re horrified!!!

It’s beyond belief!

I know!!!

But, not being a guy…

Or a very sports-minded girl at all…

I just didn’t know its value!!

Soooo…

In walks hubby…

Who is horrified as he sees his two year old…

Gumming Mickey Mantle’s signature!!

He looks at me, “Are you Crazy???”

“What?” I say!

He grabs it…

And stomps out of the room…

Well…

We’re still together after 36 years…

But, I haven’t seen that baseball since!

“Where is it???”

I ask, as I’m writing this…

“Where you can’t get at it!”

He replies!

Wise move!!

Our son is 23 now…

And we may have grandchildren someday…

Who need to be distracted, too!

Ha!

Lord…

You’re seated above…

Enthroned in the Father’s love…

Destined to die…

Poured out for all mankind…

God’s only Son…

Perfect and spotless One…

You never sinned…

But suffered as if You did…

All authority…

Every victory is Yours…

Savior…

Worthy of honor and glory…

Worthy of all our praise…

You Overcame!!

Jesus…

Awesome in power forever…

Awesome!

And great is Your Name…

You Overcame!

Power in hand…

Speaking the Father’s plan…

You’re sending us out…

Light in this broken land…

Sweet Holy Spirit!

This is who you are!

You can’t hide it…

Take it all over the world!

To the young, to the old, every boy and girl…

Show the world where the love is!

Never sell out!

Loving out loud is what it’s all about!

Give everything to see the lost get found!

Refuse to keep this buried deep inside…

It’s time to let your little light shine!

No point hiding it…

Lord, You’ll Never Get Fired From This Job!!!

My husband and I were talking the other night…

“I love you!”

Thanks for _______!!

Thanks for doing the_______!!

And fixing the_______!!

But, you forgot to_______!!

Well, you know how this conversation goes!

Ha!

So he says, “Oh, No!

I guess I’m fired from this job!?!?”

Is he kidding???

I answer, “Oh, No!

You’ll NEVER be fired from this job!!!”

Let’s think of all the things I’d have to do myself!!

Cook!

Grocery shop!

Fix the cars!

Take care of the landscaping!

Throw out the garbage!

The list is endless!!!

I love him for who he is…

But I also get the added benefit of what he does!

Lord,

I love You for who You are!!!

And I love and appreciate all you do!

Without You…

I’d have to totally take care of myself…

I’d have to heal myself…

I’d have to know all things…

I’d have to be everywhere…

See everything…

Especially the BIG picture!

I’d have to overcome my own sinful nature!

I’d have to grow and produce my own fruit of the Spirit!

I’d have to depend on my own wisdom!

I’d have to decide which path in life to chose, for myself…

By myself!

Without Your Divine Guidance???

Can’t do it!

I can’t see Love without Your eyes?

No one can comfort me with Peace like You can!

Who would calm my mind in times of trials and storms?

Help me discern right from wrong?

Teach me to know and understand the Truth from Your Word?

Who will care for me…

My husband, my son, and my family…

My ministries from you, my job, my home, my finances, etc.

Who would make up for all my weakness!?!

By showing up strong!

Who will determine which “work,”

(And how much, and how often I should do it!)

To put action to my faith…

So I don’t get stressed out!!

How will I get rid of all my sins?

Who else can give me my divine purpose here on earth?

Who will get me ready for eternity?

How will my mind be renewed???

How will my heart be purified???

How will my life be sanctified without YOU???

When will I know it’s time to…

“Step out in faith???”

How can I learn to quiet my busy life?

To hear with my heart

To obey when I hear, “Yes!”

And even when I hear, “No!”

To wait with patience for the Holy Spirit’s gentle whisper??

To listen closely…

Even when You’re silent!

The list is endless!!!

Me Without You??? What A Mess I’d Be!!

Just today, I messed up…again!!

I know me!

There’s no me without You!!!

Lord, you’ll have this job for eternity!!

“I’d be packing my bags when I need to stay…”

You’d better “Steal My Show,” Lord!!!

I give you the right to direct my life!

I shouldn’t be in charge of something so important!

Hey, you!

Don’t you try to live without Him either!!

What Does God See Through His Eyes???

and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

So I can minister through Your Holy Spirit!

He sent Jesus to bridge the gap…
