Leave A Legacy…

Standard

My very special Aunt Rachel, 86, of, N.J., passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013.

She left a legacy!

We’re celebrating her life!

We loved her, and will miss her!

She was predeceased by her husband, my Dad’s youngest brother…

And survived by her four sons (all of which preach the Gospel!),

her brother, her sister,

six grandchildren,

and five great-grandchildren (all who serve the Lord!)

She was a precious saint with strong faith in Jesus…

She left a spiritual legacy!!

We’re celebrating her Home Going!

She’s with Jesus now!!

“We will not hide them from their children,

but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord,

and His might,

and the wonders that He has done.

Psalm 78:4  ESV

Dear Cousins…

Don’t be discouraged…

When shadows come…

Don’t be lonely…

Heaven is now her home!

Jesus is your portion…

Your constant friend is He…

His eye is on the sparrow…

And I know He watches You…

Sing because you’re happy…

Sing because she’s free…

For His eye is on the sparrow,

And I know He watches you!

“Let not your heart be troubled,”

His tender word you hear…

Rest on His goodness…

Lose your doubts and fears…

Follow where He leads you…

By the one step that you see…

His eye is on the sparrow…

 I know He watches You!

Whenever you’re tempted…

Whenever clouds arise…

When songs give place to sighing…

When hope within you dies…

Draw closer to Him…

As He sets you free from care…

His eye is on the sparrow…

I know He watches you!

I want to leave a legacy…

How will they remember me?

Did I choose to love?

Jesus, did I point to You enough?

And make  a mark on things?

I want to leave an offering…

Be a child of mercy and grace…

Who blessed Your Name!

Unapologetically!!

Help me leave that kind of legacy…

Not look too far, or too long…

Or make a lengthy list of all that I enjoy…

Accumulating trinkets, and a treasure pile…

Where moth, and rust, and thieves, and such…

Will soon enough destroy!

Not well traveled…

Not well read…

Not well-to-do…

Or well bred…

I just want to hear instead

“Well done, good and faithful one!!”

Aunt Rachel,

I hear your Jesus saying that to you right now!

Amen!

Don’t have a family legacy???

It could start with you!!!

God’s ready to help you!

Changed!! Oh Yeah, That’s What It Takes!

Move On…

It’s time for a change!!

“Therefore if any man be in Christ,

he is a new creature:

old things are passed away;

behold, all things are become new.”

2 Corinthians 5:17

Have you come up, out of the water…

Raised your hands…

Up to the Father?

Given it all to Him one day…

Felt a new wind kiss your face?

Walked away…

Your eyes wide open…

Finally see where you’re going?

Doesn’t matter where you’ve been…

  You’ve gotten off track…

You’ve made mistakes…

Back slid your way into that place…

Where souls get lost…

Lines get crossed…

And the pain won’t go away…

Hit your knees…

Now where you stand…

There you were…

Now here you are…

Here you are…

Changed!!!!!!

Say a lot of “Hey, I’m sorry”s…”

For the things you’ve done…

Man, that was not you…

Wish that you could take it all back…

  Tell ’em that…

You’ve changed for the better!!!

More smiles…

Less bitter…

Even starting to forgive yourself!

Yes, you are!!

You’re changed!!!

Rejoice!

Thank God!

You’re changed!”

Don’t wait…

We’ve all been there…

To get to here!!!

This is what it takes!

Amen!

“And we all,

who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory,

are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory,

which comes from the Lord,

who is the Spirit.”

 2 Corinthians 3:18

Unless It Points The World Back To You!

The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue,

to know the word that sustains the weary.

He wakens me morning by morning,

wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.

The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears;

I have not been rebellious,

I have not turned away.”

Isaiah 50:4  NIV

Be reminded that your words have the opportunity to make great impact;

allow wisdom to guide how you choose them.

“Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”

Francis of Assisi

God in His kindness gave each of us different gifts.

If your gift is speaking God’s Word,

make sure what you say agrees with the Christian faith.

Romans 12:6 GWT

Words can make you feel like a prisoner…

Or set you free!

Words can make you feel like a criminal…

Or make you feel like a king!

Words can lift your heart…

To places you’ve never been!

Words can drag you down…

Or bring you down to where you began!

Words can build you up…

Words can break you down!

Words can start a fire in your heart…

Or put it out!

Let Your words be life!  Let Your words be truth!

I don’t wanna say a word…

Unless it points the world back to You!

You can heal our  heartache…

Speak over our fear…

God

Your voice is the only thing…

We need to hear!

Let the words I say

Be the sound of Your grace

I wanna speak Your love…

Not just another noise!

Oh…

I wanna be Your light…

I wanna be Your voice!

Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King

3-6-13 Portofino Park 050

After Jesus had said this,

He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

As He approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives,

He sent two of His disciples, saying to them,

‘Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there,

which no one has ever ridden.

3-6-13 Portofino Park 051

Untie it and bring it here.

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’

Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as He had told them.

3-6-13 Portofino Park 052

As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them,

“Why are you untying the colt?’

3-6-13 Portofino Park 053

They replied, ‘The Lord needs it.’

3-6-13 Portofino Park 054

They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.

As He went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.

3-6-13 Portofino Park 079

Blessed is the King who comes in the Name of the Lord!

‘Peace in Heaven and Glory in the Highest!’

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus,

‘Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!’

3-6-13 Portofino Park 102

‘I tell you,’ He replied,

‘If they keep quiet,

the stones will cry out.'”

New Devotional Booklet:  by Roy Lessin

“Confessing The Truths Your Heart Believes…

I Believe… in Redemption!

I Believe… Jesus is my Redeemer!

And He has Redeemed me through His shed blood.

His Redemption means that He has bought me at a great price!

The highest price that could be paid for my ransom!

I Believe…that His ransom…

Means that I am no longer in bondage to satan…

Stuck in a horrible pit of despair…

Or a slave to sin…

I Believe… that my Redemption means that I am no longer my own…

And that my purpose it to serve Jesus…

And glorify Him!

Not unwillingly…

But from the heart…

As His bond servant…

I count it a privilege to serve Him for love’s sake…

I Believe… His ownership of my life…

Brings me great comfort…

Deep peace…

And overflowing joy!”
