Is a Naples-based improvisational theatre group…

Featuring scenes, games, and songs that are created right before your very eyes!

If you liked the television show “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?”

And the improv troop, The Second City, you’ll love this!

The actors utilize information given by the audience to build the show!

Every scene and game is driven by suggestions from the audience…

Some games may even feature audience participation!

You never know what an evening will bring…

Which makes each show different from the next!!

Leave A Legacy…

Standard

My very special Aunt Rachel, 86, of, N.J., passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013.

She left a legacy!

We’re celebrating her life!

We loved her, and will miss her!

She was predeceased by her husband, my Dad’s youngest brother…

And survived by her four sons (all of which preach the Gospel!),

her brother, her sister,

six grandchildren,

and five great-grandchildren (all who serve the Lord!)

She was a precious saint with strong faith in Jesus…

She left a spiritual legacy!!

We’re celebrating her Home Going!

She’s with Jesus now!!

“We will not hide them from their children,

but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord,

and His might,

and the wonders that He has done.

Psalm 78:4  ESV

Dear Cousins…

Don’t be discouraged…

When shadows come…

Don’t be lonely…

Heaven is now her home!

Jesus is your portion…

Your constant friend is He…

His eye is on the sparrow…

And I know He watches You…

Sing because you’re happy…

Sing because she’s free…

For His eye is on the sparrow,

And I know He watches you!

“Let not your heart be troubled,”

His tender word you hear…

Rest on His goodness…

Lose your doubts and fears…

Follow where He leads you…

By the one step that you see…

His eye is on the sparrow…

 I know He watches You!

Whenever you’re tempted…

Whenever clouds arise…

When songs give place to sighing…

When hope within you dies…

Draw closer to Him…

As He sets you free from care…

His eye is on the sparrow…

I know He watches you!

I want to leave a legacy…

How will they remember me?

Did I choose to love?

Jesus, did I point to You enough?

And make  a mark on things?

I want to leave an offering…

Be a child of mercy and grace…

Who blessed Your Name!

Unapologetically!!

Help me leave that kind of legacy…

Not look too far, or too long…

Or make a lengthy list of all that I enjoy…

Accumulating trinkets, and a treasure pile…

Where moth, and rust, and thieves, and such…

Will soon enough destroy!

Not well traveled…

Not well read…

Not well-to-do…

Or well bred…

I just want to hear instead

“Well done, good and faithful one!!”

Aunt Rachel,

I hear your Jesus saying that to you right now!

Amen!

Don’t have a family legacy???

It could start with you!!!

God’s ready to help you!

Quit Running Around and Around…Get Centered!

Standard

I remember…

Right after I came back to the Lord years ago…

 I had a vision…

God was trying to show me…

This exact thought…

Jesus needs to be the…

Center of my life!!

I saw me…

My family…

My career…

My house…

My hobbies…

My passions…

My friends…

Swirling around and around…

Then I noticed that He began moving things…

So that He was in the Center of it all!!

There He was holding out His arms…

Taking care of everything that concerned me!

I finally got it!

If He’s allowed to be the Center of my life…

Everything else revolves around Him!!

Everything!!

Come sun…

Come rainy day…

Jesus is still the same!!

In the dark…

In the light…

In the morning…

In the night…

In the good…

In the hurt…

In the places I hide…

When I rise…

When I fall!!

In the loss…

In the win…

In the beauty…

In the sin…

At the start…

At the end

He’ll be there…

Through it all!

In the Center of My Life!!

How liberating!!!

“But seek first the kingdom of God

and His righteousness,

and all these things will be added to you”

Love With No Regrets!

Life Lessons Learned:

Life Is Short!

It‘s okay to make mistakes…

Don‘t get stuck in yesterday…

Forgive, forget, and move ahead…

Because life is what you make of it…

Live with no excuses…

Love with no regrets…

Laugh a lot and leave this life…

With nothing left unsaid…

Make this world a better place…

Don‘t be afraid to cry…

And when it‘s finally time to say goodbye…

Nothing to prove, nothing to lose…

Nothing to hide…

You see, life can not be measured by…

The place you live, the car you drive…

The thing that counts the day you die…

Is who you are, and what‘s inside…

So tell the truth, don‘t ever lie…

Integrity at any price…

Your words, your bond, your highest price…

So guard it close, and live your life…

So many things, I learned from you…

‘Bout  life and love and play…

But I learned more by how you lived…

Then what I heard you say!!

Thank you for life’s lessons, Lord!

Through those I love…

Who love You deeply!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,

let us throw off everything that hinders

and the sin that so easily entangles.

And let us run with perseverance

the race marked out for us,

fixing our eyes on Jesus,

the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

For the joy set before him He endured the cross,

scorning its shame,

and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Easter Service at Sacred Heart!

Okay, let me set the scene for you.  It’s Easter Sunday.  My son and I taught Kids Church at our church at 9 am.  We’re very Pentecostal!  My husband is Catholic.  So on Christmas Eve and on Easter Sunday, my son and I become “C and E” Catholics, so we can go as a family to Dad’s church with him.

Perhaps not ideal.  Or, even what I pray for.  But it is what it is!!

Anyway, I know Easter Service is going to be super packed at the Catholic church, so I want to get there as soon as we can, when my son and I get home from our church.  We wore regular church clothes, instead of our Kids Church t-shirts and jeans, as we usually would, just to save time.  But, I let my son wear his black and white Converse sneakers with his black pants, because, well, who cares, right???

Anyway, my husband insists our kid come inside, and change his sneakers, and so, we got to his church right before 11 am, instead of at 10:30 am, like I planned.  There might have been a shot at getting a seat at 10:30 am, but “No Way” at 11 am!!  It’s a huge, beautiful church, just rebuilt after the hurricane!

But, folks, this is Easter Sunday…Resurrection Day!  Amen!  And Hallelujah!!

We walk in through crowds, upon crowds, of people.  I see a friend and she says, “No seats!!!”  Since the usher just gave her husband the last seat, because he had just had surgery, and wouldn’t be able to stand for an hour and a half.

I can’t either!

So we head back outside…

Walk around to the other door…

Into the overflow room!!

The overflow room has overflowed!

People have overflowed out into the vestibule…

And onto the outside walkway…

And well into the parking lot!

So we decided to stay in the vestibule, ’cause I saw a little 2″ window sill, that I mistakenly thought I could rest on.  But, at second glance, I saw that it was way too small for my behind!

What was I thinking?

Also, I had worn my really cute, little, tiny heels, since I figured,

“Hey, I’m not working and standing all day, right?

I’ll be sitting, won’t I?”

Ouch!

My mind is racing.

How to find a way to sit down…

ANYWHERE!!!

I ask the usher if there are any folding chairs? “No!”  My husband goes to the Annex Building to look.  “No!”

Then I spy a door to a kitchen, and just inside, is a little mahogany step stool!

I sneak in when the usher isn’t looking, and grab it!

Nice Christian move, huh?!?!?

I sat rather uncomfortably on this stool for the entire service,  I couldn’t even see the priest.  I peeked around the blob of people in front of me.  He was miles away, but I saw that he had white hair.  We had settled right next to the bathrooms, where people were coming and going, and flushing!  Not really conducive to worshiping!

But, with their great sound system, and I could hear every word the priest said!

All the hassle was worth it, because of the sermon I heard preached to the Catholics!!

After awhile everyone calmed down to stand in their chosen spots, and the ceremony began.    They even sang “Celebrate, Jesus, Celebrate”

Which I loved!  Real hand clapping music!  Amen!

The priest was talking about what Jesus did for us on the Cross…

“It’s Finished, Nothing Else Needs To Be Done!”

Amen!

He helps them recite their profession of faith and belief in Jesus Christ, etc.

While I’m not Catholic, my Mom’s older sister was a nun, I was raised in a Catholic town in NJ, and basically there were a hand-full of us non-Catholic Italians in our town-most of whom were related to us!!

So, if you have any questions, please go to Rebecca Hamilton’s blog called Public Catholic, at:

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/publiccatholic/

For more precise explanations of Catholic doctrines.  Her blog is awesome!

Finally, the priest got to the sermon part, and said…

“I Hope So!”

My ears perk up from my crouched position on that tiny, hard, little bench!

This is a phrase I’ve heard from my husband, since we met in high school!

Question:  “Are you going to Heaven?”

Answer:  “I hope so!”

“Where did you learn that answer?” I asked him…

Now, my husband knows a lot of Bible…thank you Catechism classes!

“I was taught,” he said,

“That the only person who is assured of going to Heaven, is the one thief on the Cross,  who said,

“Jesus, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.”

Jesus answered him,

“I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise.”

Luke 23:42-43

“That’s the only one?”  I ask.

“Where’s our Blessed Hope, then?”

“Not to know if you’re on your way to Heaven, or not…’til when?”

“‘Til after you die????”

I never got it!

And I never heard a sermon at my husband’s church addressing it…

‘Til this Easter!!!!

I was so excited!

We Pentecostals are like that!  Ha!

When the Holy Spirit reveals something…

Remember what happened in Acts Chapter 2!!

Good thing I didn’t have far to fall,

‘Cause I was about ready to fall off my stool!!!

I’m poking my husband, as the priest is saying,

“You know, we’re the only religion, that when asked if we’re going to Heaven…

We say,’We hope so!’

And, we’re the only religion that has a place called ‘Purgatory!’

Where is that, anyway???”

That’s another doctrine I couldn’t understand, either…

“No!”  he said, “Believe in Jesus as your Savior!”

Then, the priest adds,

“Also, don’t be so grouchy, Jesus wasn’t grouchy, and He died on a Cross for us, so we could go to Heaven!!”

This priest preached to a packed audience of Catholics, and friends, the sermon I’ve been praying my husband would hear for years and years.

“Did you hear that?”  I ask my husband.

He said, “No, I couldn’t hear a thing, you were talking so much!!”

Dear Holy Spirit, please reach out and open his ears!!

I was made to love You!

Jesus, I repent…

I’m following You…

I’m serving You in Confidence…

So Daddy, I’m on my way!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith.

And this is not your own doing;

it is the gift of God,

not a result of works,

so that no one may boast.”

Ephesians 2:8-9  ESV

“For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only Son,

that whoever believes in him should not perish

but have eternal life.”

John 3:16  ESV

“And there is salvation in no one else,

for there is no other name under heaven given among men

by which we must be saved.”

Acts 4:12  ESV

Hey! Did You Hear? My Son Is Now Quoting Me On FB!

Standard

1-16-13 Walk 015

Does that mean I’m really a writer!?!  Ha!

It just started last week!

We were at drama practice sitting around trying to think of some good choreography…

For “Me Without You” by tobymac…

Great song!

There’s an instrumental part (sort of robotic-sounding) in the middle of the song…

And we were trying to think of cool movements for it…

So, as we were tossing ideas back and forth…

One of us (probably me!  Ha!) said,

“How about if Jesus was a robot in this part???”

Everyone laughed, except for one of our newer boys!

He had been asking questions all practice…

Like…

“Why do we need to BE a piano?

Or turn ourselves into musical instruments?”

We tried to explain how human video dramas are done at Fine Arts competitions…

If the song talks about a ladder…

We need to MAKE a ladder using the people in the drama…

If there’s a hill…

We MAKE a hill with our bodies!

Still he didn’t get it!!

So I guess the “robot-Jesus” idea was the last straw!!

He was so exasperated with all of us…

That he said, “That’s just really offensive to talk about Jesus like that!!”

That’s when I said the line that my son quoted on FB!!

“Don’t take us as seriously as you’re trying to!!!”

All the older kids cracked up…

My son wrote it down and posted it…

As a quote from his wise Mom…

And I got 20 “Likes” on his FB page!!

Two days later, I had a funny dream that I remembered completely…

Most of it was a convoluted story of us moving into a new house…

Realizing that it was falling apart…

That the previous owners left all their stuff…

Even a kielbasa/hotdog- looking food item in the grill, etc., etc.

Oh, and I dropped my cell phone in a lake!

Crazy!

But, at the end of the dream…

I was coming home late from somewhere…

And my retired cop husband was sitting in his car in a Foodtown parking lot where we used to live in NJ…

Waiting for me to make sure I was safe…

I saw him sitting in his car with the headlights on…

And I thought, “How nice!”

Just as I was going to turn right to pull into the parking lot…

A HUGE Moose

Came charging at the left side of my car!!

I was at a red light…

But, I said to myself…

“I remember what my husband always said to me!

‘If a HUGE Moose came at you, even if you’re at a traffic light…

Step on the gas and get out of there!!'”

By this time, after telling my husband and son this crazy dream…

We were all laughing hysterically!!

My husband does give us lots of safety tips…

But never once about a HUGE Moose!!

But, I got 30 “Likes” on that one!

One of my friends read it and didn’t understand it!

Guess you had to be there!

My philosophy is…

To never take myself or life too seriously!

Ahhhh…Laughter!

Belly laughs…

Joy, Joy, Joy!!!

Jesus, give me more of it!!

“A joyful heart is good medicine…”  Proverbs 17:22

 “Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy;

Then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’”  Proverbs 126:2

“A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance…”  Ecclesiastes 3:4

“A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.”  Proverbs 15:13

“Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!”  Psalm 32:11
