Lord, You’ll Never Get Fired From This Job!!!

Standard

My husband and I were talking the other night…

“I love you!”

Thanks for _______!!

Thanks for doing the_______!!

And fixing the_______!!

But, you forgot to_______!!

Well, you know how this conversation goes!

Ha!

So he says, “Oh, No!

I guess I’m fired from this job!?!?”

Is he kidding???

I answer, “Oh, No!

You’ll NEVER be fired from this job!!!”

Let’s think of all the things I’d have to do myself!!

Cook!

Grocery shop!

Fix the cars!

Take care of the landscaping!

Throw out the garbage!

The list is endless!!!

I love him for who he is…

But I also get the added benefit of what he does!

Lord,

I love You for who You are!!!

And I love and appreciate all you do!

Without You…

I’d have to totally take care of myself…

I’d have to heal myself…

I’d have to know all things…

I’d have to be everywhere…

See everything…

Especially the BIG picture!

I’d have to overcome my own sinful nature!

I’d have to grow and produce my own fruit of the Spirit!

I’d have to depend on my own wisdom!

I’d have to decide which path in life to chose, for myself…

By myself!

Without Your Divine Guidance???

Can’t do it!

I can’t see Love without Your eyes?

No one can comfort me with Peace like You can!

Who would calm my mind in times of trials and storms?

Help me discern right from wrong?

Teach me to know and understand the Truth from Your Word?

Who will care for me…

My husband, my son, and my family…

My ministries from you, my job, my home, my finances, etc.

Who would make up for all my weakness!?!

By showing up strong!

Who will determine which “work,”

(And how much, and how often I should do it!)

To put action to my faith…

So I don’t get stressed out!!

How will I get rid of all my sins?

Who else can give me my divine purpose here on earth?

Who will get me ready for eternity?

How will my mind be renewed???

How will my heart be purified???

How will my life be sanctified without YOU???

When will I know it’s time to…

“Step out in faith???”

How can I learn to quiet my busy life?

To hear with my heart

To obey when I hear, “Yes!”

And even when I hear, “No!”

To wait with patience for the Holy Spirit’s gentle whisper??

To listen closely…

Even when You’re silent!

The list is endless!!!

Me Without You???  What A Mess I’d Be!!

Just today, I messed up…again!!

I know me!

There’s no me without You!!!

Lord, you’ll have this job for eternity!!

“I’d be packing my bags when I need to stay…”

You’d better “Steal My Show,” Lord!!!

I give you the right to direct my life!

I shouldn’t be in charge of something so important!

Hey, you!

Don’t you try to live without Him either!!

Amen!!

you are the branches.

you will bear much fruit;

The Harvest Is Plentiful…Go…I Am Sending You!

10-19-13 Walk 033

Luke 10:1-24

Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-Two

11-5-13 Walk 001

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others

and sent them two by two ahead of Him

to every town and place where He was about to go.

10-27-13 Calvary 043

He told them, The harvest is plentiful,

but the workers are few.

Ask the Lord of the harvest,

therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.

11-1-13 Class Trip 106

Go!  I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.

Do not take a purse or bag or sandals;

and do not greet anyone on the road.

11-1-13 Class Trip 170

“When you enter a house, first say,

‘Peace to this house.’

If someone who promotes peace is there,

your peace will rest on them;

if not, it will return to you.

10-2813 Walk 002

Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you,

for the worker deserves his wages.

10-24-13 Walk 085

Do not move around from house to house.

“When you enter a town and are welcomed,

eat what is offered to you.

11-1-13 Class Trip 465

Heal the sick who are there and tell them,

‘The Kingdom of God has come near to you.’

But when you enter a town and are not welcomed,

go into its streets and say,

‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you.

11-1-13 Class Trip 164

Yet be sure of this:

The Kingdom of God has come near.’

I tell you,

it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom

than for that town.

1-2-13 Gilchrist (Sat.) 057

“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!

For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon,

they would have repented long ago,

sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

10-27-13 Calvary 026

But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.

And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens?

No, you will go down to Hades.

11-4-13 Walk in PC 005

“Whoever listens to you listens to Me;

whoever rejects you rejects Me;

but whoever rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.”

10-27-13 Calvary 073

The seventy-two returned with joy and said,

“Lord,

even the demons submit to us in Your Name.

10-19-13 Walk 055

He replied,

I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven.

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions

and to overcome all the power of the enemy;

nothing will harm you.

10-27-13 Calvary 067

However,

do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you,

but rejoice that your names are written in Heaven.”

11-1-13 Class Trip 353

At that time Jesus,

full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said,

“I praise you, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth,

because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned,

and revealed them to little children.

11-1-13 Class Trip 291

Yes, Father,

for this is what You were pleased to do.

“All things have been committed to Me by My Father.

No one knows who the Son is except the Father,

and no one knows who the Father is except the Son

and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.”

11-5-13 Walk 019

Then He turned to His disciples and said privately,

“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.

For I tell you that many prophets and kings

wanted to see what you see

but did not see it,

and to hear what you hear

but did not hear it.”

11-4-13 Walk in PC 089

Believers…

We have authority from God…

To see more lightning…

And less fog!

Go!

And do likewise!

So you can return with joy!!!

Rejoice!

That your name is written in Heaven!!!!

11-5-13 Walk 007

See the plentiful harvest?

Go now!!

He’s sending you!!

Amen!

Blessedness!

The joys we draw.mmitm.mjb

According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust. 1 Timothy 1:11 NKJV

God, who is the author and giver of every blessing, is called the blessed God. Blessedness is a state of happiness. When we read that God is the blessed God, it means that He is a happy God and He wants to bring His happiness to us.

Why is God called the “happy God”? He is happy because He is holy. The joys we draw from the wells of salvation come to us from a pure fountain. If the Scriptures said, “God is unholy” then He would be without happiness, for there is no happiness to be found in darkness, in evil, or in sin.

Some people have painted a false image of holiness. They portray holiness as something associated with gloom, legalism, and grimness. They think of the fruits of holiness as unhappiness, meanness, and a sour disposition. However, it is important for us to remember that heaven, the holiest place of all, is also the happiest place of all.

It is also possible to have a wrong image of happiness. Happiness is not defined by someone who has a great sense of humor, is fun-loving, or has a bubbly personality. Happiness is a state of someone’s heart and sense of wellbeing, not a characteristic of someone’s temperament or a certain personality trait.

Who are the happiest people on earth? The Scriptures tell us, “Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous—possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God!” Matthew 5:8 AMP. (Note that this happiness of heart is true even in the midst of hardships and difficulties.)

True happiness comes to us as a fruit of our relationship with God through Christ. The blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin, not only removes our guilt and condemnation, but opens the doorway for our happiness (blessedness) by bringing us into a right relationship with God and allowing us to be partakers of His holiness (Hebrews 12:10).

I love the words spoken long ago by a new believer in Christ while giving his testimony of salvation during a church service, “Sometin’ in me got released for good. I swallowed sunshine! He has given me a mighty faith that has made me feel clean inside.”

How good it is to belong to a happy (blessed) God who brings happiness (blessedness) to His children.

hey, did you see that?

I celebrate with you for finding joy in the trials!! Peace is a beautiful thing…and yes, it will show on your face!! Thank God! Amen!!

Overwhelmed By Joy's avatarOverwhelmedByJoy

peace joyIf you are like most people, you find the months of October through December as the most hectic time of the year. That is generally true for our family as well…plenty of celebrations, holidays, and several family birthdays in December just for added stress fun. This year the mayhem began a few months earlier. We don’t get to schedule emergencies, do we?

It began with an exacerbation of my MS that meant approximately 6 weeks of traveling by wheelchair or walker. Not bad by normal standards for me, but still, those can never be planned in advance and I never know how long they will last. Next came health issues for family members on both sides of our families, some major and some minor. Flu, several surgeries, and much more.

We are also assisting someone during a transitional stage in their life. As part of this we started the transformation…

Tangled threadsThe factory had complicated machinery for making textiles, so the workers were given a very clear instruction: “If your threads get tangled, stop and send for the foreman”   One of the workers, a woman who was dedicated to her job, and always worked hard, got her threads tangled one day and tried to disentangle them herself, rather than bothering the foreman.  She succeeded only in making them more tangled.

A Thanksgiving Day Devotion

Standard

Pastor Rob, Thank you for so clearly explaining our Christian views and practices…as we come into this season of harvest and Thanksgiving to our God…from whom all blessings flow! Amen! Great post!

Rob Barkman's avatarSettled In Heaven Blog

SIH STSTA ICONIt is commonly believed that the first Thanksgiving celebration took place in 1621.  This feast was attended by both Pilgrims and Indians who joined together to thank God for their bountiful harvest of the previous year.  This celebration was continued by the first American colonies, and later by the United States, as a time of thanksgiving for the blessings that God had bestowed upon the American people.

The official Thanksgiving Day holiday was started in 1863 when Abraham Lincoln, at the end of the Civil War, asked Americans to set aside the last Thursday of November as a day of thanksgiving to God for the blessings He had shown to America (one of which was an end to the Civil War).

In 1939 FDR moved the holiday to the prior week.  He did this to help businesses by giving them a longer holiday shopping period.  Finally, in 1941 the fourth…

I received this e-mail recently, I love it!

(author unknown…)

Here’s The Difference Between Us…

AMERICAN KIDS:  Move out when they’re 18 with the full support of their parents.

ITALIAN KIDS:  Move out when they’re 28, having saved enough money for a house, and are two weeks away from getting married….. unless there’s room in the basement for the newlyweds.

AMERICAN KIDS:  When their Mom visits them, she brings a Bundt cake, you have coffee, and chat.
ITALIAN KIDS:  When their Mom visits them, she brings 3 days worth of food, begins to tidy up, dust, do the laundry, and rearrange the furniture.

AMERICAN KIDS:  Their dads always call before they come over to visit them, and it’s usually only on special occasions.

ITALIAN KIDS:  Are not at all fazed when their dads show up, unannounced, on a Saturday morning at 8:00 am, and start pruning the fruit trees. If there are no fruit trees, he’ll plant some.

AMERICAN KIDS:  Always pay retail, and look in the Yellow Pages when they need to have something done.

ITALIAN KIDS:  Call their dad or uncle, and ask for another dad’s, or uncle’s, phone number to get it done.

AMERICAN KIDS:  Will come over for cake and coffee, and get only cake and coffee. No more.
ITALIAN KIDS:  Will come over for cake and coffee, and get antipasto, a pasta dish, a choice of two meats, salad, bread, a cannoli, fruit, and espresso.

AMERICAN KIDS:  Will greet you with “Hello” or “Hi.”
ITALIAN KIDS:  Will give you a big hug, a kiss on your cheek, and a pat on your back.

AMERICAN KIDS:  Have never seen you cry.
ITALIAN KIDS:  Cry with you.

AMERICAN KIDS:  Eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on soft mushy white bread.
ITALIAN KIDS:  Eat Genoa Salami and Provolone sandwiches on crusty Italian bread (for breakfast).

Christians and Anger

Awesome message!!

Cindy Livingstone Ministries's avatarCindy Livingstone Ministries® Revivalist

Anger

Most Christians believe that it is definitely wrong ever to outwardly express anger
in any form. And yet anger is an emotion and God created us as emotional beings.
This leads to a very important question, “Is it always wrong and a sin to
be anger?” To answer this, one must know the nature of anger as defined in
the Bible, how it affects us and others, what the Bible says about expressing
it, and how to handle it.

I. What is Anger?

Anger is a strong emotion of displeasure. The New Testament uses three words
for anger?

1. Thumas — turbulent commotion, boiling agitation of feelings, blazing up,
passion, anger boiling up and subsiding, an outburst from inward indignation
(Eph. 4:31)

2. Parorgismos– (wrath) anger that has irritation, exasperation, embitterment
(Eph. 4:26b, 6:4)

3, Orge– An abiding and settled habit of the mind aroused under certain
conditions; against…
