I Can’t Be A Writer!!

Standard

No one around here will let me think!!!

Beach 1-10-12 055

If my dream is to be a writer…

I need to write!

To write…

I need to think!!

Here’s the scenario:

Get up late…

If I’m not working…

Get the coffee churning!  Ha!

Or, rush home from work, or from wherever…

Hurry to get everything done around the house…

Well not “everything!”

But enough to make me happy!

Eat, so my brain can function…

Sit down at the computer in the den…

Check my e-mails…

Gather my thoughts…

Compile my notes…

Download my photos…

Prepare to think…

Get ready to create!!

Ahhhhhhh…

The moment’s here!

And then!!!!!!!!!

It starts….

“Hon,

Can you peel the eggplant for dinner?

Put away the groceries?

Bread the chicken cutlets?

Send out this bill?

Call the pharmacy?”

And on and on…..

“Mom,

Where’s my whatever???

What do we have going on for Saturday?

Do I have to vacuum today?

Can I use this den space to play my games?”

And our Crazy Siberian…

She’s the worst!!!

She’ll be perfectly fine…

Relaxed…

Just lying around…

Watching TV with us…

But, as soon as I get my behind on my comfy chair in the den…

To sit down right in front of my computer…

And start to imagine…

Start to formulate a wonderful idea…

About something I’m passionate about…

“Ahhhh, yes….

It’s time to write!”

She barks to go outside!

She barks for a treat!

She barks for some attention…

Who knows…

She just barks…

It’s soooo annoying!

Then I get angry…

And whip out the dreaded fly swatter…

And warn her…

It doesn’t help!!

She’s spoiled by all of us!

So I end up…

Getting up…

Getting the treat…

Taking her out …

And giving her attention!!!

All my thoughts…

My beautiful, creative thoughts…

Just completely left my mind!!

Come back, come back…

Sweet, precious thoughts!!

This is why I often write at 2 am!!!!

When everyone’s asleep!

My fantasy…

Is to be alone in a cottage on the beach…

For at least 3 full entire days and nights!!!

Dear Lord…

I love my family, my home, and my life…

But, is that too much to ask for???

Just a little time to think!!

“Finally, brothers,

whatever is true,

whatever is honorable,

whatever is just,

whatever is pure,

whatever is lovely,

whatever is commendable,

if there is any excellence,

if there is anything worthy of praise,

think about these things”

Philippians 4:8

Hello! Welcome To Our Home!!

Standard

Hi!  I’m The Crazy Siberian!

This my domain…

I’m in charge here!!

This year has really been quite chaotic!

This is my story and I’m sticking to it!!

“For He will give His angels orders concerning you,

to protect you in all your ways.”

Psalm 91:11

4-28-13 Onyx 001

Looks like they made this dining room table just for me to try to hide under!

They had to remove the oriental carpet under it recently,

Because when I was sick, I was messing up too many areas!

Sorry!!

“Fix these words of Mine in your hearts and minds;

tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

Teach them to your children,

talking about them when you sit at home

and when you walk along the road,

when you lie down and when you get up.”

Deuteronomy 11:18, 19

4-28-13 Onyx 011

Hey, you’re not perfect either!!

Yeah, that’s right!

“I will lie down and sleep in peace,

for You alone, O LORD,

make me dwell in safety.”

Psalm 4:8

3-28-13 Easter decorations 001

The Mom usually decorates this table for each holiday!

But, she’s working part-time this year, so…

These Easter decorations have been on this table since before March 31st!!

“By wisdom a house is built,

and through understanding it is established;

through knowledge its rooms are filled

with rare and beautiful treasures.

Proverbs 24:3-4

3-31-13 Easter 112

The Boy is ready for the battle…

I will cause My people and their homes

around My Holy hill to be a blessing.

And I will send showers, showers of blessings,

which will come just when they are needed.”

Ezekiel 34:26

3-31-13 Easter 120

But I want you to know that…

I won the Easter-Egg-Cracking War!!

“Unless the LORD builds the house,

those who build it labor in vain.

Unless the LORD watches over the city,

the watchman stays awake in vain.”

Psalms 127:1

3-28-13 Easter decorations 003

They did not let me eat these!!  HUMPH!!!

“Now My eyes will be open [says the Lord] and My ears attentive

to the prayer that is made in this place.

For now I have chosen and consecrated this house

that My name may be there forever;

My eyes and My heart will be there for all time.”

2 Chronicles 7:15

3-28-13 Easter decorations 004

But, they do give me carrots!!

“And every day in the temple and at home

they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.”

Acts 5:42

3-28-13 Easter decorations 005

Everybody loves me!!

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock;

if any one hears My voice and opens the door,

I will come in to him and eat with him,

and he with Me.”

Revelation 3:20

I know it’s all about Jesus…He healed me when I was so sick!!

“As for me and my house,

we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:15

Today…May 2nd…the Mom finally put the Easter decorations away!!

And the Dad and the Boy put the carpet back in place!

All was going well until I had an accident on the Family Room carpet!  UGH!

“Let not your hearts be troubled;

believe in God, believe also in Me.

In My Father’s house are many rooms;

if it were not so,

would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?

And when I go and prepare a place for you,

I will come again and will take you to Myself,

that where I am you may be also.”

John 14:1-3

2-14-13 Valentine's Day! 004

Here’s what the table looked like on Valentine’s Day!

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High,

who abides in the shadow of the Almighty,

will say to the LORD,

‘My refuge and my fortress;

my God, in whom I trust.'”

Psalms 91:1-2

2-14-13 Valentine's Day! 011

The Dad does a good job of arranging flowers, huh!?!?

For a retired cop!!  Ha!

“Unless the Lord builds the house,

its builders labor in vain.”

Psalm 127:1

2-14-13 Valentine's Day! 012

Valentine’s Lunch!!

They did not invite me!!

“Do not forget to entertain strangers,

for by so doing some people have entertained angels

without knowing it.”

Hebrews 13:2

Okay!!  Go home now…

it’s time for my peaceful afternoon nap!!

“I will lie down and sleep in peace,

make me dwell in safety.”

Psalm 4:8

Are You Tired Of All Your Whining??? God Is!

Standard

This Post Is For Me!!

It’s not always easy to practice what you preach!

That’s why I prefer to teach and learn…

Rather than preach and burn!

Ha!

But, I’m tenacious…

So I’m determined to…

Stop Whining!!

“Do all things without grumbling or questioning,”

Philippians 2:14  ESV

“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths,

but only such as is good for building up,

as fits the occasion,

that it may give grace to those who hear.”

Ephesians 4:29  ESV

“Do not grumble against one another,

brothers,

so that you may not be judged;

behold,

the Judge is standing at the door.”

James 5:9  ESV

Whether you call it complaining, grumbling, or whining…

God doesn’t like it!

“But, God, we’ve had a bad week!  Our sweet, precious, Crazy Siberian was not feeling well this week, and kept us all up every night last weekend!  We’re all tired and grouchy!  At home and at work!  We’re barking at everyone!  We just want some peace and quiet!  There’s too much to do, and we’re overwhelmed!!  It’s like we have a new baby in the house!  We need some help here!!”

I’m sorry, Lord…

Please forgive me!

But about that angel…

Send the biggest one you have…

Please Hurry!!

My precious little girl is acting so strangely…

Here she is hiding in my son’s messy closet!!

HELP!

Oh, Yeah…This Is Good Training For My Son!!

Standard

“There’s Always Something…”

Last August, our Crazy Siberian had a very scary seizure!

https://godssceneryandpromises.wordpress.com/2012/08/25/crisis-averted/

Thursday evening she had a second seizure!

We  were all right there when it happened…

I was folding clothes..

She was in my son’s room…

I put his folded clothes away, and shut his bedroom door…

In a few moments, I heard her whimpering…

So I thought, “Oh, I shut the door, and now she wants to come out.”

I went back into my son’s room…

And she’s in the middle of floor, whimpering for no reason…

What’s wrong with her???

She gets up, comes towards me, and collapses…

And starts having a seizure!

We shout for my husband who’s watching TV…

He runs for the ice packs…

Barking his “police officer” commands…

I grab the medicine in the syringe we have ready on the kitchen counter…

Praying, “Jesus, Jesus, please help my precious little girl!”

I prayed hard!!

Thanking God we had the medicine on hand…

And knew to use ice packs to cool her down!

But it was so scary!!

Her eyes were unfocused, she was twitching, and so upset…

In about 20 minutes or so, she came out of it!

Praise God!

She wanted to go outside, where her bowels suddenly gave way…

Like last time when it happened on the tile floor in my dining room…

I cleaned it up that time, while my husband and son took her to the emergency vet clinic…

This time my son cleaned it up!

Like I said, “Good training!”

For when he has kids of his own!

We took her to the vet on Friday…

Her thyroid level is a little low, so she’ll be on medicine…

But, she’s fine, and back to her old crazy self!

Thank God!!

Good training for my son…

To pray and trust God!!

Amen!

And I had just been complaining about her fur all over my house…

Since it’s getting really hot in FL…

She was “blowing her coat” all over my house!!

My husband and son finally shaved her!!

“Little Puffs”

I call those nasty hair balls…

However, after this second seizure…

I certainly changed my tune!

Who cares about the “Puffs!”

I want my precious little girl to be healthy!!

Learn, son…

Learn, what’s important!

Then, two weeks ago…

I was home from work with a bad sinus infection…

My head was so stopped up…

I was breathing through my mouth…

It was about 7 pm…

I had just taken a nice warm shower to try to unclog my nostrils…

I settled down on the couch to watch a little TV with my hubby…

I was so tired…

I thought, “I should just go to bed now…”

When my husband calmly says to me…

“You need to take me to the Emergency Room…”

What?!?!

A retired cop never, never, never says that unless…

It IS an emergency!!

I can’t think, I throw on some clothes…

No time for make-up!!!!

Put a visor on my head…

Don’t want to scare anyone in the ER!

Grab the keys…

And GO!!!

I’m praying all the way!

At this point, I don’t even know what’s wrong with him…

I just know what it could be…

And it makes my stuffy nose seem rather insignificant!

On the way, he tells me his hands are tingling…

That his blood pressure has been way up for several days!!

Men…

Husbands, in particular…

Why?

Why??  Are you so stubborn????

Don’t answer that…

I’m stubborn, too!

Ha!

While I’m racing to the hospital, he’s on phone…

Calling our son…

Who had graduate class 45 minutes away from us…

Telling him how much he loves him…

And what a great kid he is…

And I’m just thinking…

Dear Jesus, what did I complain about today?

Concerning this man???

And what does that matter right now!?

I know I have Jesus on my side, in moments like this…

Who else is there to help me??

So I keep praying…

Holding hands with my husband…

And with Jesus!

Saying, “You’ll be alright!”

Well, we get to the ER, sign in, and WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An hour goes by…I don’t even have my Kindle with me…since we left the house in such a hurry…

I’m NEVER without my Kindle in “waiting” situations!!

I can’t get through “waiting” situations without something to read!

So, hubby tells me to go home, and he’ll call me when it’s time to pick him up…

Since there are seven families ahead of us…

We’ll be there all night, I know…

I’ve been this route with my Mom…

God Bless her, now in Heaven!

And it’s shift changing time at the hospital!

What does he want me to do ?!?!

Is he serious?  How could I do that???

So I say, “No way!

I wouldn’t want you to leave me here!”

We sat there for an hour, only one person was called in…

And my impatient hubby had enough…

He asked the nurse when he was going to be seen…

She said, “Who knows?”

So, he told me he felt better now, and he insisted we leave!

I wanted him to promise to go to the doctor the next day…

But NO!

The next day, he went to WalMart to take his own blood pressure…

Praise God, it was lower by 30 points…

Well, I know there’s no Scripture in the Bible that says,”God takes care of fools…”

But I know God took care of him that night!

Because, I was sitting in that ER…

Silently praying…

And I felt God say, “He’s okay, He’s okay, He’s okay…

You don’t need to worry about this!

I will take care of him!”

Jesus tells me, “I’ll be by your side, whenever you call Me!”

Why are you crying?

Let Me lift up your face!

Why are you still searching?

As if I’m not enough?

To where will you go child?

Tell me where will you run?

To where will you run?

I’ll be by your side wherever you fall…

In the dead of night whenever you call…

Please don’t fight these hands that are holding you…

My hands are holding you…

Look at these hands at My side…

They swallowed the grave on that night…

When I drank the world’s sin…

So I could carry you in…

And give you life…

And I, I love you…

And I want you to know…

That I, I’ll love you…

I’ll never let you go…

Amen!

I believe Jesus has the best for us, so I pray for His best!

I don’t expect the worst to happen…

I expect His Best!

When, “There’s Always Something…”

You Need Someone Who’s Always By Your Side!

Trust!!!!

It’s Good Training for all of us!

Who’s By Your Side?

What’s that smell???

My Crazy Siberian has a very keen sense of smell!!  She always knows when something smells “fishy!”  Ha!

If it seems out of the ordinary…she perks up…and is at full attention…until she can figure it out!

When she was an immature puppy…her senses were not mature yet…so she would ingest anything and everything!

Socks (dirty or clean!), rubber bands, plastic bottle caps, plastic beach shoes, dust bunnies, etc., etc., etc.

You know dogs even (YUK!!!!!!!) eat their own vomit…they’re so disgusting!

They sniff out everything (including their poop!!!  YUK, again!!), and are certainly not too discerning at all!!

Once, she ate the entire black substance inside a tennis ball/bar bell-looking toy we got for her at Walmart…

And threw it up for days!

So knowing this history of our crazy dog…I don’t expect too much from her…

However, I was surprised yesterday, when I realized I left the dryer lint where she could reach it in the laundry room…

AND IT WAS STILL THERE!!

An “AHHHHHH HAAAAAA!” moment, for sure…

My precious, little, 6-year-old girl is growing up!

She’s making better decisions!

She sniffed it out…and decided it was not worth ingesting!

She still eats questionable things for a healthy dog to eat, but seems to be restricting her intake to food items!

She still chooses peanut butter, cheese, burgers, and anything else we’re eating over her own food…

But, I say she is maturing in the area of what she will put inside herself!

Hallelujah!

Hey everybody!!  God feels this way about us, too!

We need to grow up!!

Sniff it out, first…

BEFORE you ingest it into…Your Body…Your Mind…Your Heart…

If it stinks…Don’t eat it!

“Stinkin’ Thinkin'” isn’t good for us!

That’s for babies!

Don’t be a baby!!

As a  mature Christian, be discerning!

Sniff it out…whatever you see, read, hear, think, say…

If it doesn’t smell good, according to God’s Word…

Don’t put it in, and don’t let it live in you!

Throw it out!

Philippians 4:8  NIV

“Finally, brothers and sisters…

Whatever is true…Whatever is noble…

Whatever is right…Whatever is pure…

Whatever is lovely…Whatever is admirable…

If anything is excellent or praiseworthy…

Think about such things!

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me…

Or seen in me…put it into practice…

And the God of peace will be with you!”

Amen!

12-12-12 102

I had the most amazing conversation with a little boy on a bicycle, while I was taking a walk around my neighborhood last week!

I was just past the new construction site I told you about in a precious post…

Haven’t Seen One Of These Around Here In A While!!”

12-22-12 053

12-26-12 005

12-26-12 011

I was listening to my inspirational Gospel tunes on my iPod, and thinking…

“Things are progressing nicely at the construction site!”

My Dad was a carpenter, so every step in the building process interests me!

I remember as kids, my Dad would ride us by every house he had built, and proudly say, “I built that house!”

I perhaps didn’t appreciate it then, but after having built all our houses over the years…

I appreciate it now…

Great job, Dad!!

Anyway…

Suddenly,  this little boy, perhaps 6 or 7 years old, came barreling at me on his bicycle…

While I was thinking, reminiscing, and listening to my music…

Shouting, “Dead Lizard!!  Dead Lizard!!”

I pulled out one ear bud…

And said, “What!?!”

He repeated it again!

“Dead Lizard!!  Dead Lizard!!”

“Where?”  I said…

He pointed up ahead…

“Want to see it?” he asked…

“Of course!” I said…

I just love kids!!  Don’t you???

I see people on my walks all the time…

Mostly those walking their dogs…

I don’t walk mine, my husband does that…

Because my crazy Siberian pulls my arm out of its socket!

It’s not a calm walk!!  Ha!!

Anyway, I talk to a lot of people on my walks, pet their dogs, say “Have a nice day,” etc.

And not once has anyone said anything as amazing as,

“Dead Lizard!!  Dead Lizard!!”

That’s why I love kids!!

So the kid on the bicycle turned his bike in the direction I was walking…

And raced to show me the way to the dead lizard you see in the photo!!

Soon, he turned back to me as I was apparently following too slowly!

“Come on!” he said…

“Can’t you run???”

Apparently he doesn’t understand age!  Ha!

So I walked a little faster to please him!

When we got to the dead lizard…

He proudly pointed to it, and said, “There it is!”

“Ahh,” I said.

“You’re right, it’s definitely dead, alright!

How do you think it died?” I asked…

“Did you run over it with your bike???”

In FL, little lizards run back and forth, and in front and around you all the time…

I remember when we came to FL for vacation, before we moved here, when my son was young…

That he went to grab one, and it let go of its tail to get away…

My son started crying, thinking he had killed it…

But we explained to him that it’s their defense mechanism…

And they can grow their tail back again!

Quite amazing little creatures, these “Lizzies!!”

So the little boy on the bicycle says…

“No, I didn’t run it over…

I found it this way!!”

I’m glad I came along for him to share his “find” with!!  Ha!

After we looked at it for awhile, I said…

“Merry Christmas, and thanks for showing me the dead lizard!”

And he turned to ride back the way he was going, and I continued on my walk…

Quickly though, he had another thought and said…

“When you go around the corner and see a black truck…

That’s my Dad’s truck…

Say to him, ‘Bryson said, Hi!'”

“Oh, you live around the corner?” I asked…

“We’re renting!” he said…

“Okay, I’ll tell him!”  I said as I continued walking…

He turned his bike around, and sped off ahead of me, to make sure I gave his Dad the correct message…

And beat me there!

Sure enough, there was his Dad washing his black truck!

So I said, “I’m supposed to tell you that Bryson said Hi!”

He laughed, that laugh that’s says, “Yup, I know my kid and that’s exactly what he’d say!!”

Bryson called to his Dad, “We saw a dead lizard!!”

His Dad said, “Great!

And Bryson, remember, stay where I can see you!”

While doing the “I’m-watching-you” motions…

“I know  that, Dad,” he replied…

And then he pedaled away, but on his own block this time!

So I said, “Merry Christmas, Bryson”

And he said, “You already said that!”

Yes, he’s right…I did!

Dear Jesus…how can anyone hurt a child???

This is why I need to live in new houses, because 10 years goes by before I realize I’m not keeping up with the cleaning!!

Standard

12-9-12 Walk 004

Yes…

I convinced my husband…

To let me get the floor tiles in my house…

Professionally cleaned…

As I begged Santa in an earlier post called…

Dear Santa…I want!!

We’ve been in FL…

In this house…

That we had built…

For 10 years!

And I just realized I’m not keeping up!!

Ten years of dog hair…

Dirt…

Grime…

Cooking grease…

Powder…

And just plain GUNK and YUK!

So, my husband found Bob, the handyman in our neighborhood…

Who has been doing odd jobs around our house for several years!

He came yesterday…

Put down some bleach, used a broom-like thing…

And within an hour…

Our Master bathroom floor was sparkling clean!

Like it was 10 years ago!!

The fumes were bad for my allergies…

But I sat outside on my lanai with my puppy…

Then wore a mask all day while inside…

We turned on all the ceiling fans…

And my husband set up extra fans…

We’ll get the rest of the house done on Tuesday!!

Yipee!!

What a great Christmas gift!!

But, woe is me!!

How will I keep it like that??

Tell everyone not to walk on it???

Ever again???

Shave off all my Crazy Siberian’s hair???

Never cook again???

Don’t use powder in the shower???

My problem???

While I am a neat freak…

Since I can’t think in clutter…

And I do love to keep the house organized…

And decorated nicely…

And I’m good at keeping up with the paperwork…

That my husband refuses to look at…

Because it drives him crazy…

As far as the…

Deep…

“Get myself dirty-bend down-mop-move things-go behind-reach up, get a step stool to clean top shelves, wipe ceiling fans, and dust all my trinkets…”

Kind of cleaning…

I’d rather WRITE than do that kind of cleaning!!

Hey…I’d rather RELAX than do that kind of cleaning!

Hey…I rather do ANYTHING ELSE than  do that kind of cleaning!

Too much to do…

Too little time…

Too much effort…

Too much back-breaking work!!!

Where does the time go???

Let’s see…God & family & dog, teaching, drama team stuff, reading, writing, Dr.’s apts., hair and nails apts.,etc., etc.!

DUh!

Deep cleaning doesn’t seem to be on this list…

Or…

Even on my radar…

Unless you’re coming to visit!

Ha!

Then I’m frantic!

Oh…

If I’d only keep up!!

Lord, please help me!

Or else…

It just might be time to move to another brand new house!!

P.S.   Yes, along with my new squeaky clean floors…

I got a new Nikon Coolpix L610 camera for Christmas!!

And tickets to see my friend’s daughter in “Sister Act” in Tampa on Saturday!!

Okay, Santa, I’m going to hold off on the losing weight request…

And just pray to maintain during Christmas!

Ha!  Let’s be realistic!

Thank you, Santa!!

Get prepared…

I’m going to ask for a cleaning lady next Christmas!

Lord, I need you to…

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Psalm 51:10 (E S V)

And help me keep it that way!

Amen!

I didn’t think so!  Now, go away and stop bothering me!

Maybe I’ll try to nap by the front door!

These people were gone on vacation for a whole week!  It was NO vacation for me!!

Sure, I was really excited to see them, I thought they were never coming back!!

Hey!  Did you say something about peanut butter?!?

Yum!

Okay, I’ll say it..I’m soooo glad to be home!!

And don’t go away again!!
